Enigma Arena Delayed, Johnny Cash Leaves Blizzard

Patch 9.2 New Enigma Arena Delayed for Polish

This new Arena includes moving features, and we want to make sure we get it working right before release. While we’re very excited about it, we’re now planning to add it to the game in a subsequent content update, and not with the beginning of Season 3.

Maldraxxus Coliseum is still on track for release with Eternity’s End update.

    Johnny Cash Leaves Blizzard
Senior Game Designer Johnny Cash is leaving Blizzard after 12 years. He is best known for his work on pet battles, artifact weapons, and class halls!

All the talented devs have already left. With the ship now doing its best to emulate the Titanic, all the rats are scurrying up to the top and leaping.

While I don't think it's necessary to report every developer leaving Blizzard as "news", I've enjoyed pet battles since they were introduced in MoP and I greatly enjoyed the class fantasy and gameplay of Artifacts and Order Halls during Legion.

    Godspeed Johnny Cash.

When I was younger, I was actually trying to go for a career in software / game design, because I was hopeful that I could end up working with talented, and passionate, people at Blizzard.. How idiotic. What a disaster this company has turned into. Blizzard just needs to implode and go out of business. It's not the company I admired when I was younger.

Didn't he also design a lot of the quests in Jade Forest? The first levelling zone in Pandaria was great in large part due to the quests in that zone. Also, he's not entirely unknown. He was part of the BlizzCon 2017 "Design a Dungeon Boss Live" panel.

How people behave at BlizzCon might not necessarily reflect them accurately, but the two times I fortunate to meet him at BlizzCon, I'd definitely describe him as cheerful and considerate of other people. Seeing now that he was involved in D&I makes a lot of sense. I hope that whatever company next hires him gets the cheerful, considerate employee he was at BlizzCon.

Blizzard is bleeding talent, subs and customer support. What a dumpster fire. Time for Blizzard and Actividion to just go away or get taken over and start new

You think Artifact weapons and Class Halls were things that sucked? I'm sorry- but you definitely come off as a bit... slow.

    Yeah, they sucked. Hard.

That is not an objective view and you know it.

Funny how that works, every dev sucks and dont care about the game until they leave then they are suddenly talent.

Artifact weapons were one of the best borrowed power I think. It was fun to get new skins and appearances. Also it reduce the amount of "gimped" feeling when you don't get your weapon to drop in raids because you already have one that grows with the xpac.

So he worked on a garbage version of Pokémon, one form of borrowed power and garrison 2.0. I don't see a reason to miss him.

Not at start, before they added artifact weapons and people played with them, artifact weapons probably even got more shit then Covenants got.

You had such gems as artifact weapons is so lazy, just a way for devs to skip spending time on creating weapons for bosses to drop.

Class halls were decent, but they were thrown in the garbage for new, annoying systems. They were vastly superior as a concept (that could be improved) to the forced faction war that we got after.

Class Halls and Artifact Weapons were actually awesome.

Talent doesn't mean they are talented, it's just a reference. Blizzard has done a lot to squash any talent they had. He may very well , like others, thrive in a different company.

I loved the class hall concept.
