    Patch 9.2 - Sylvanas's Ending

    Patch 9.2 - Sylvanas's Ending (Spoilers Below)
New voiceover lines that give us Sylvanas's fate were recently decrypted. They aren't in any confirmed order, nor do we have all of the context that goes with them.

Pelagos: The time for your judgment is at hand.
Pelagos: Sylvanas Windrunner. There can be no true justice without compassion and I can see your deeds bear the mark of the Jailer’s influence, an influence we failed to contain.

Sylvanas: The Jailer did not control me. My actions were mine alone and I accept their consequences.
Sylvanas: And I do not expect your mercy.

Pelagos: Then, you know in your heart, to whom you must answer.
Pelagos: Entrusting justice to your most fervent adversary.

Sylvanas: Death would be a merciful end, Tyrande.

Tyrande: What game do you play now banshee?
Tyrande: The Sylvanas I hunted would never submit to the blade of her enemy.
Tyrande: Below lies the Maw. An unjust fate, to which you doomed so many. And it will be there that your penance begins.
Tyrande: You will toil there, under Dori'thur’s watchful eye. You shall find and send forth to the Arbiter. Every soul lost in its depths, betrayed or condemned to be judged with the compassion all souls deserve.
Tyrande: Scouring every darkened reach. Until the final soul is free and you are all that remains.
Tyrande: This is how you shall bring renewal to your victims. And my people.
Tyrande: Your newfound remorse might be genuine. But it can never erase all that you have done. There will be no peace for you Windrunner. Until there is peace for the souls of your victims

Sylvanas: It shall be done. However long it takes.

Pelagos: Are there any gathered here who object to this fate?
    Pelagos: So be it.

The prisoner is in my charge now
Andu falah dor, old friend. Watch her well.
    Bring her!

I really hated what they did to Sylvanas recently, but given the story they told this ending seems fine enough.

Like I said in the other thread, best ending all things considered. Leave her to her fate until capable writers are hired to handle her eventual return, and forbid Danuser from writing anything more regarding her.

The only sad thing for players is, they have to rely on that hack to come up with new characters to fill the void. God knows what he'll do to all the others in 10.0.

Actually a good ending, considering what they created to work with. Didn't expect it, props.

"Put her on ice. Exhume the next icon!"

pulls lever, a wheel spins with various names on it with Arthas, Illidan, and Sylvanas crossed out

"...OK, who had Darsok Swiftdagger for 10.0?"

So lets see here. Illidan gets to be a babysitter for all eternity and Sylvanas gets to do the same dailies we have been doing all expac for the rest of eternity.

Damned to suffer and scour the Maw until she finds and releases every last soul she condemned to that hell hole through her actions.

I'd much rather she be the one who "fades and is forgotten" instead of Arthas, but I suppose I can work with this.

Actually, yeah. I'm fine with this, all things considered.

" Are there any gathered here who object to this fate? " - yeah, me. Pathetic.

Blizzard: "lets just park her for a while so we can do a huge 'reveal' return in 11.0".

Not a fan at all. Soft, VERY soft.

The kind of storytelling we have come to expect from blizzard. Meh.

Who is Tyrande speaking to at the end?

    > "Andu falah dor, old friend. Watch her well."

I'm assuming it's her owl. I'm not quite sure what's stopping Sylvanas from just plinking it with an arrow when Tyrande is gone.

    I assume Tyrande would just...know. Like it's a magical familiar/ward.

Thats the crazy part for me - they have done weak consequences before, but think back to Wrath - that cinematic is, for me and many i know, the most impactful scene in all of wow, ever. I almost thought they would back out of that and have him survive in some way, but nope, they doubled down and ended that fucker, as it should be.

Im ok with the occasional 'soft' ending, but its every fucking time now. Like Putin getting crushed next week, captured, and given a $40 fine for being a naughty boy.

Isn't it just a creation of hers? I didn't know that Owl sentry was sentient lol

Really wish they just killed Tyrande instead, instead of keeping her whining, raging self there to cater to a terrible fanbase.

I'm pretty sure Tyrande would know if something happened to her owl. Isn't she somehow linked to her spirit owl?

The Maw is described as a misserable "hell like" place. They basically sentenced her to hell for an unknown amount of time, perhaps forever. I hardly consider that a "soft" ending. The expected, boring ending would have been Tyrande just offing her.

I lost braincells reading this ending

Not really. She may be condemned to "hell", but she isn't being tortured. Being in the Maw isn't bad, by itself. It's the Mawsworn trapping and torturing you non-stop that makes the place bad, and Sylvanas is going to be free down there, to look for souls. It's a penance, not castigation.

Although I do still hope she ends up captured by the Mawsworn and tortured forever. More specifically, just after she saves the last soul required for her absolution, she gets captured and tortured for eternity.
