Patch 9.2.5 Dungeon Accessibility Updates - Motion Sickness Elixir

Patch 9.2.5 Dungeon Accessibility Updates - Motion Sickness Elixir

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. Motion sickness was a concern when we first talked about the possibility of Grimrail becoming a Mythic+ dungeon. Fortunately, one of our designers came up with a clever solution which he was happy to share in the video below:

As mentioned in the video this is currently a one-off solution for places we’ve identified motion sickness as a concern due to background motion, but we hope it’s helpful for those affected and we’ll keep an eye out for any other places where it might be applicable.

i know, i know, mmo champion users are all about complaining, but why not make it a dialogue option on the npc or a checkbox in the games settings?

I believe item like this is easier and quicker to implement. I wouldn't be surprised, if this is seen as a functional solution they might take the time to put it in the settings.

while i don't think it's much more difficult to wire the effect to a dialogue option than it is to wire it to an item the item might have one benefit:
if you stock up on them you don't need to run back in case you forget to speak to the npc.

just keep the item bind on pickup lest people get scalped on the auctionhouse...

Really nice change. While it doesn't affect me, it's cool that people with motion sickness can enjoy these dungeons without getting sick or worse.

i am pretty sure you drink this potion once and then it will ALWAYS be active, idk, i hope it works that way, sorta like other "activate" items.

This is better than nothing I guess, but this should really be a toggle in the settings, not some consumable item that gives a temporary buff.

Blizzard made a change & put it in game with a lore friendly reason? My god...

    I agree.
They were able to add color blind modes so why not also this?
Also 'dark mode' from ink potion should be normal toggle option now.

That's exactly what I was thinking ... why not make it a toggle in settings ... cause I can tell you now, people will forget to buy the thing at the entrance.

I'm glad this is real. I thought at first it was an April Fools joke, but then I realized there are 31 days in March. I don't need this but I think its cool they are helping those that do.

There does seem to be a worrying recent trend of carrying UI elements in your bags.

The shard removal tool from 9.1 should have been a UI element as well.

Because some designers still care about making it seem like an RPG and not just a lobby.

This is actually a really good addition. I'm very happy about this. The more accessibility features they add to WoW, the better.

This. I actually like that it's an NPC instead of a boring UI setting.

Cool addition. Even though I didn't have any motion-sickness while playing, I'd still use it.

Assuming the item works like it does in the video, it's both Bind on Pickup, and Non-consumable. So you'd buy it once, sacrifice a bag slot, and then always have it available if/when you need it.

Having it as an item over an option has pros and cons.
    * It becomes more visible to players as the vendors are where the (worst) issues occur. You might toggle it on and off a bunch before encountering either location and forget it exists, if you even found it or thought to look for it in a menu.
    * If it was an option you had toggled and forgotten about it's would be reasonable to assume that something about either the instance or you graphics card was about to break. Using an item reminds you so you don't have to worry.
    * It should really be a Toy rather than an item so you can summon it in later if you forgot to buy a new one at the start after throwing the old one away to save bag space. For Grimrail that shouldn't be an issue as you start so close to the offending effect but for Maw of Souls you don't want to run back (especially in timed scenarios)

Though I think the reason for it being an item at the moment is mainly testing and changing it and versions of easier and that it should become an options menu feature when they get to expand it to cover more areas and effects that cause it.

I suffer from motion sickness with a lot of games (mainly FPS games), but I cannot say I had it triggered with Grimrail Depot much. But for those that do, I guess this is good news.

Why not make it a toy? Just asking
