While true, BFA was also when the top guilds started streaming, so that muddles the numbers a bit. MMO-C thread is obviously going to be more popular when it's the fastest way to get news on new % best, who's doing what on the fights, etc. Now you can just watch it instead.

The internet: where to every action is opposed an unequal overreaction.
I don't agree with @Azerate but your comparison is a bit skewed as well. Most of those longer RWF threads were from the time before it was streamed so there was a lot more speculation from posters about what was happening. (For a long time we'd have to wait for World 5th to even see the last boss.) It's not even remotely fair to correlate the number of pages in the RWF thread with the popularity of the game. (You'd also extrapolate that WoD was more popular than this expansion. kekW)

Speaking of unique Paragon strategies, their Archy kill was also pretty cool because they came up with a completely different way of handling the Wrought Chaos. (Most guilds used Method's WeakAura, Paragon had pre-assigned slots.)
I kinda miss it if I'm being honest; with the RWF being streamed these days it's extremely unlikely extremely divergent strategies like this will happen.
There's some other players that stayed. For example Viklund, one of the most skilled player of all WOW, or Cayna, who always bring a good atmosphere in the raids.
But I totally agree that Method's 2nd place is a feat of strength and a big showcase of mental fortitude from Sco. Gratz to him and all the Method raiders.
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death
Paragon was one of the pioneers of alt raiding though. In ICC. They made 2 or 3 of their classes and then raided progression to try and get the kill. For context, this was a result of the limited pull counter. It increased every week, but it was quite limited at the start. By making and running alts, they were able to double, triple or more their pull counts and get more info faster. It was a fairly revolutionary (and somewhat degenerate) approach to the game at the time.
I believe only Premonition was doing something similar... I think for Tribute to Immortality maybe?

Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.
Man I love rewatching randomly linked previous WF kills. They usually have a fun quirk... whether its class/spec stacking, a strategy used that encounter designers clearly didnt intend, dubious use of boss mechanics, or outright bug exploiting.
And THE NUMBER 1 RULE: Make sure to add "Two Steps to Hell" music to every video.... to make it 100% more epic.
Heres another fun blast from the past with Paragons Heroic Al'AKir kill and the quirky p1 strat.,... and mass immunity/cloak stacking so they could reset the p2 Acid Rain debuff.

Day time raiding was also not so universal until ICC. I can still remember how some of the top guilds got into trouble when day time raiding became more and more of a focus. Paragon also had its share in this change. It also took a few more tiers before day time raiding became a permanent part of RWF.
Class stacking, however, does not necessarily have to be based on Paragon. Class Stacking became an issue in WotLK, also because the elitism in WotLK slowly arrived in the mainstream. People also started to focus more on min-maxing in PUGs. Meta-Speccs, at that time still called FOTM, became mainstream.
However, Paragon presented a new level of class stacking with the Nefarian kill. Never before had something like that been popularized.
