I mean it's a dumb plan but the Russians have already done plenty of those.

It probably has a name Putler like. That is the extent of the logic behind the fck mess so far.
But soon after Mr Xi secured a third term, Apple released a new version of the feature in China, limiting its scope. Now Chinese users of iPhones and other Apple devices are restricted to a 10-minute window when receiving files from people who are not listed as a contact. After 10 minutes, users can only receive files from contacts.
Apple did not explain why the update was first introduced in China, but over the years, the tech giant has been criticised for appeasing Beijing.

We are talking a country here where a czar drew a straight line on a map to show where a railway was to go and the peasants had to build it straight regardless of the terrible terrain it went through.

That is pretty much how Europe did within Europe but most obvious colonial powers so it is not a stupidity limited to Russia.
Apart from never being able to move forward like the rest of Europe..

It's just to create mess, throw shit and see what sticks. Transnistria has less than 500k people (data from 2018, likely a lot of people run away since then), about 1.500 'peacekeeping' russian troops and is literally stuck in soviet times, they couldn't threat Odessa in any way. Small force can keep larger force busy when they are, you know, defending.

Yeah, but if they sink enough of their own warships in harbors to prevent new ships from entering...does that count as mission accomplished?

It is interesting to note some of the countries that turned up at the gathering in Germany for talks on assistance to Ukraine - the NATO/EU countries were there (including Ukraine, Sweden and Finland) but also countries from Asia, Africa, Oceania and the Middle East. Reportedly it included Jordan, Israel, Morocco, Tunisia, Qatar, Kenya, Liberia, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand and Australia.

It's basically what Lavrov was saying (for once he is right)... This might be the birth of a new international organisation that takes on some of the functions of the UN in the area of international collaboration, but its mostly made up of countries that want to align themselves with the "free world".

As US officials were saying, this will be a monthly meeting now. It's literally just a matter of time before they start signing papers, agreements, charters etc. It might be a new NATO++ or some type of "Free World Council" or whatnot.

Especially if they start doing what the US is saying they'll start doing...as in pooling military resources, standardizing and sharing tech, establishing new supply chains etc.

I'm pretty sure China is looking at this development with all sorts of concern. It's like "Thanks Russia for creating a military superblock that stretches now from Europe to Africa, Middle East and Australia. GG well played.

Putin kind of wants that. For Russia to be considered a big enough threat that old Cold War like alliances pop back up.

    I doubt he does.

China has very little to gain and a whole lot to lose getting closer to Russia. I don't know who else is Russia hoping to align itself with.

Nah he is specifically trying to draw old Soviet lines. An alliance against Russia in his head means he at least regained a portion of the USSRs command for respect.

    Thanks Biden!

U.S. intel helped Ukraine protect air defenses, shoot down Russian plane carrying hundreds of troops
Many people have been asking why so many Russian senior officers have been getting killed. Well, if we extrapolate from this article, "Ukrainian forces have used specific coordinates shared by the U.S. to direct fire on Russian positions,” might have something to do with it.

Imagine what real-time intelligence they are getting that we dont know off.

That one is only about half the distance away from the Ukrainian border as the fuel depot in Belgorod that was attacked by helicopters over three weeks ago.
