    No replacement for Thorghast/Islands/Warfronts/Legendary systems

We will have no legendaries. No "expansion system" like Islands/Thorghast/Warfronts.

Is really having some work done on talents and professions a good excuse for this?

At 70, what are we farming outside of new mount customizations?

At least they tried making something new and fun in the past few expansions. This expansion, we get nothing.

Let me paint a picture of this expansions endgame. You have some reputations to farm to get some toys/transmogs. Then you have some world quests. Outside of this, you're supposed to want to do M+/Raiding/3v3 arenas. Don't like that? Too bad, they spent all their focus to make the ugly dragon race and the talent system you already decided on when you looked up the best spec on Icy-veins in the prepatch before the expansion released.

Dragon flying....Duh. In all seriousness I highly doubt Blizzard would leave us nothing to grind on. They will probably just make the reputations take 3 times longer than normal.

Not all that surprising given the crap-tons of shit that have been dumped on "systems" generally in Warcraft. All of those listed have come in for their share. So, out they go.

Whether or not there will be new stuff announced remains to be seen. It's still pretty early. At this point it's simple to say what's not going go forward. They can and frankly should play their cards close to the vest on new stuff that's still in development lest it be considered as "promises."

    Good take you're right.

I will gladly give up legendaries if it means no more atrocities like torghast.

so far they have said the reputations are all linked to a single renown which is timegated like in shadowlands. DF will be a very straight forward raid logging expansion.

It would be, if we would be getting more dungeons, more raids, more outdoor content (that isn't braindead and actually engaging) and ex more pvp modes. Ain't seeing that so far.
    Ship has been abandoned.

They didn't say that, they said the opposite.

Each reputation will be replaced by their individual renown bar, and unlike SL where you had 1 renown progression for your chosen covenant, we'll be able to work on all of them at the same time.

That's not what they said at all. There are several big reputations that will use the Renown system, though how the Renown for each is awarded might differ. They did say they won't be mutually exclusive, so you can work on all of them without switching.

That might mean a weekly quest rewarding Renown for one, Story campaign based Renown for another and maybe dungeon drops or such for a third.

Obvious troll post because no one in their right mind enjoyed doing islands.

I'm feeling klaps_05 is mistaking the weekly quests for the Renown system as well...

That's a good thing, considering Legendary systems sucked, Island Expeditions sucked and Warfront sucked too.
Torghast was almost cool enough but they made it suck too.

They kinda dropped the ball to not have a Torghast-like feature involving time travel

Gear. We have had more expansions without borrowed power than we have with. We can do without.

Islands were fine in moderation. Their biggest flaw was that the degree of randomization wasn't anywhere near enough to keep it fresh for an entire expansion, doubly-so as borderline mandatory power progression. Had I still been subbed, I wouldn't be entirely opposed to soloing them from time to time for money.

They shouldn't have tied legendary crafting to it. Was fine on its own, but was made effectively mandatory for no good reason.

This is basically what people have been shoutily arguing for since Legion, and you're mad about it? Wow.

There will be as much to do as there was in any pre-Legion expansion I'm sure. Did anyone feel like those had less to do than, say, BfA? I sure didn't.

yeah, because that way they had to make it inclusive for all the noobs too and it became really lame

M+/raiding/arenas are a big part of wow, any who choses not to do them then complains there's nothing to do is being unreasonable

Good, honestly. Let's just get the base game being fun before adding more stuff. Features like Torghast/Warfronts all have the same issue; They cannot be rewarding enough to feel worth doing without feeling mandatory (or just flat out being mandatory like Torghast), and Blizzard's idea to incentivise people to do that type of content is always "free gear".

It's a shame, I actually really like Torghast specifically, if it weren't a weekly chore for the main power boost in SL it would've been much more positively received. Things like Twisted Halls and the Jailer's Gauntlet are great, optional challenges with neat cosmetic rewards. Mage Tower is the obvious example of high quality, engaging optional content that people love because they don't HAVE to do it.

Of course it's still early and it's possible that a feature like these will be announced if not for launch then in a later patch.

Yeah I'm definitely hoping for a Torghast-alike down the line. Totally fine if the only major rewards are cosmetic stuff.
