It just sounds like they are creating another "manager" to split some of the work load to another person. The job description of "Lead/Principle Narrative Designer" from linkedin seems like a broad set of responsibilities.

I only asked because, as far as I understand it, Danuser isn't just a narrative designer, he is lead/principal narrative designer. Anyone feel free to correct me, but as far as I know that's a unique leadership position. This tweet refers to different verbiage in "director" rather than lead or principal, so I assume you're right.
Still kind of curious as to what that position means in terms of hierarchy.

I never get why anyone would want nerfs for anyone. Buffing underperforming specs is always better than nerfing something that's good and fun for people. How damage jealous can you be that you would cheer for your friends to do less?

No, it's not. Buff underperformers, nerf overperformers. Your target should be in-between. Going for either extreme will either leave all content unchallenging or unclearable.

I think it's more about having a director for the lore of the franchise. Between Warcraft, Hearthstone and Arclight they now have three different games. Some consistency between them in lore would be nice. Though from what I've seen Arclight is not even trying. Hearthstone may sort of be a parallel universe but at least it tries to keep the same themes and consistency between characters.

I would guess the new position is the new top of the narrative department. I don't care for Danuser at all but I wouldn't assume it necessarily reflects poorly on him. It could just be that they outgrew the old structure and new leader position is needed to keep up with how they organizing their department.

Because if you see outliers you know they messed up the tuning. Nothing wrong with some specs being better but if some are outperforming others by a significant margin, then there is an issue. If you don't fix it now, it will only get worse next tier with more scaling.

Not necessarily messed up. You will always have outliers unless everybody is identical. Destro and Survival are currently rather extreme in AoE damage. They aren't nearly as impressive in single target, though.

Does anyone remember where this '9.2.5 allied race' shenanigans stems from? Is it just the music and the new voice overs or is there more evidence besides of hopium?
I really can't see blizz stealth dropping an allied race without capitalizing on the hype such an announcement would generate.

Tirisfal being in 9.2.5, and more importantly being encrypted.
The whole "go there and gain their trust" opening questline someone found.
Darkfallen being established as a distinct race, not just undead elves.
Someone tried to argue that the new Lament variant on 9.2.5 was the same length as the themes used for previous AR introduction cutscenes.

Mostly it's hopium though. It never made more sense to have a Darkfallen AR compared to customization options locked behind a questline.

It’s a combination of speculation based off 1 leak, some stuff in PTR, and the fact Blizzard didn’t capitalize off the hype of Drsgonflight announcement by opening up preorders right after like they usually do.

With the datamined music being used for the Windrunner spire secret, i think its either customization or nothing at all.
I doubt we are getting another race.

Music can be used more than once so we aren't out of the woods yet we must live in the shadow of fear for awhile longer.
