The most depressing part about DI is the fact that Wyatt Cheng said DI has as many resources as D4.
Resources that have gone in to this disgustingly predatory cash grab instead of developing and releasing D4.
It's not like they needed the profits from DI to be able to fund D4. Now we will get either a delayed or diminished D4 product as a result of the re-allocation of resources.
I played it for like an hour, maybe a little more and i uninstalled, i don't see why Diablo in 2022 is still relevant.
Enjoying the game from a casual point of view. Played a few hours in PC and on mobile and definitely having fun for now. Hit lvl30 and dodged every try from Blizzard to get into my wallet.
Why do players even spend so much money to see their gamertags on a leaderboard? Nobody actually gives a fuck. Don't you guys have real lives?
All right, gentleperchildren, let's review. The year is 2024 - that's two-zero-two-four, as in the 21st Century's perfect vision - and I am sorry to say the world has become a pussy-whipped, Brady Bunch version of itself, run by a bunch of still-masked clots ridden infertile senile sissies who want the Last Ukrainian to die so they can get on with the War on China, with some middle-eastern genocide on the side
Pretty sure a culture will develop in this game where the P2W people are outcast. Like look at this guy’s gems, oh he’s P2w so it doesn’t count and no one cares.

Yup.. Kinda forced to if you want in on the Chinese market, to ally with someone that speaks government kiss-ass. They gave the legacy of an amazing IP to be sullied by NetEase. I know some told me, on MMO-C, to give it a chance, but I report what I said at the announcement. It is an insult, a joke, they gave their baby to the abusive babysitter.
FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..
Are you saying he didn't have fun? Or that blizzard cares for the motivation behind the revenue increase? I might also bet a horse if I had one - that that stream led to people downloading and playing the game - that's free user acquisition, also some of them might have paid for a starter pack. Big thanks to Quin69!
I wouldn't be surprised if he's working with Blizzard as influencer - doing the outrage PR campaign.

It's much more likely that the P2W folk will ignore the F2P players as non-competitive and irrelevant to the game they're engaged in. That will happen rather quickly and if the game holds true to form with other mobile games is already well on the way. Besides if you believe half the people in this thread those that would cast out the P2W people won't be playing the game. Ergo, they have already cast themselves out. And good for them if that's how they feel.
Really, the most interesting thing about this thread is the general ignorance of how big money mobile games actually work. Blizzard's job is to make money. 20 years ago they could do that one way. Today they must do it another way if they wish to compete in the mobile market. They won't have any success charging $39.99 or more for a no-store title. That market just doesn't work that way.
It's sort of striking that there is this belief that Blizzard will do what's best for players instead of what's best for Blizzard. Y'all have been taken in if you believe that. Blizzard has always done what they judge to be best for Blizzard. How that works out for players changes over time. The truly funny thing about this is that D:I players can likely stay in an upper tier of players for around $15-$20 a month.
Make a budget, stick to it, spend $15/month ($.99 cents every other day) on boosts or whatever from the store and you're likely to do OK. Really it's not so different from WoW.

"...money's most powerful ability is to allow bad people to continue doing bad things at the expense of those who don't have it."
I dunno if hes having fun.
Do not ask me that.
It is probably middle ground: from one side it is so sad how P2W this game is and from other side having ridiculously OP character due $$ and oneshotting people that can be fun i guess?...
He also said he will make YT video with his thoughts pretty soon so we will know.
You clearly do not know his content then.
It is more like 'investment' as he has +20k viewers daily now.
It is similar to YT people buying new cars... and then destoying it and uploading video from that to get even more money from views.
He is definitely not as he said many times that PoE is much better than anything related to Diablo now.
Obviously. More views, more money for him. I guarantee you he didn't lose any money paying to win. In fact he probably made bank.
I don't even know who he is. And I don't need to.
The Youtuber business model is not a secret.
Yeah, it's a business.
Yeah, and they are not LOSING ANY MONEY DOING IT.
Haha. It's ironic how Blizzard is slammed for doing anything for money. But a youtuber doing the same thing is a trusted individual.

Cant afford to pay up front, but will pay hundreds of dollars to casino roll for a 2D jpeg in Grand Line or Fate GO? How does that make any sense?
Regarding streamers whaling, it does shine a light on the issue. Asmon did a fully pumped 10 legendary crest run he bought with money and then a F2P no crest run. The p2W run had 10 legendaries drop... the f2p run had a single blue item drop.. it is good to be able to show people the glaring difference in game play. However some of these streamers are clearly just doing it for farming stream content and more reddit posts on LSF to argue with.

Not really two birds in one stone then. Because it supports the model.
In fact I would argue streamers doing this over and over and over again is why it becomes more and more egregious. Players watching them and donating then to spend money on this helps as well.
If you want this model to be gone, you only have to ignore the shop and also ignore streamers who try to profit over buying shit from the store.
Buying from it to prove that it's bad is like you buying an overpriced house to prove its overpriced. You just bought it, so clearly it's not the wrong price.
Clearly the store isn't bad, since he paid for it. I don't think developers care if people pay to prove a point, only that they pay.

I have to point out though... the quality of armors and the high detail on it is crazy for being a mobile game. It's much better than D3.
