February 20th to April 9th was seven weeks. So it's definitely weeks. Maybe not seven, but a few.

This is way out of my wheelhouse, so I'm probably wrong here, but isn't February 20th when Shadowlands hit wowdev? Dragonflight hit wowdev on April 22nd, so wouldn't we be counting 7 weeks from then, and not from now? Or am I just being an idiot and missing something?

If we count from then, seven weeks would basically be now. I don't know about this, Marlamin is the expert. Yet he said several more "weeks" until Alpha seems likely.

Usually (based on only Shadowlands/BfA* (*minus holidays) as wowdev didn't exist for earlier alphas) there are regular builds as soon as the first one comes out. First 10.0 wowdev build was on April 22nd but we haven't seen a single 10.0 build since which makes this situation unique so I don't think any proper educated guesses can be made right now.

My gut feeling definitely says weeks (maybe mid to late July?) but that isn't based on any facts in the slightest so don't hold me to that. As soon as we see regular builds on wowdev we can start making more educated guesses as that means the internal Alpha is actually happening.

Well, E3 week is right now so it wouldn't surprise me if Blizzard chose to announce something in the coming days. If only to steer the discourse away from the Diablo: Immortal P2W situation. There is an Overwatch PVP event scheduled a few days from now, and rumours say a Diablo IV release date might come during the Xbox Bethesda presentation on Sunday. But something for WoW might also be appropriate.

It's insane how delusional people get really.. 2 or 3 data points is not a pattern. Data doesn't work that way.

I'm more interested on what the hell the Evoker class even is, I couldn't care less about talent trees that are 99% of what we have now. I'd like to know how an Evoker healer differs from Druid or Monk because right now my fear is: it doesn't. From what we know it's like a Druid with HoTs and has some "breath" heals like Monk (had).

Everything they've shown of D4 shows the game is pretty far along. They're also doing internal testing and that coincided with a release a year later for D3 I believe. I've never understood why people think this game is years away - even from the reveal, it seemed pretty far along. I'm guessing it would have been out by now if not for Covid.

It has empowered abilities and a larger focus on spatially targeted healing.
