Wrathion - Anduin Romance in Dragonflight

So back in MoP Anduin and Wrathion were shipped as a couple. While I fully support this now, they were still a little young so it bothered me that people didn't want to wait until they were adults.

Now that they are adults it's totally doable. Think of this story below:

The curtains twirled as the broad black dragon wings soared past the cottage window. A casual, repetitive drop of water soured another page of parchment.

"Damn you" Said Anduin. Another page to start over.

Again, the house shook. Why were the dragons in full force today?

"Alright beast, you are done berating me." Anduin grabbed his sword and cast open the door.

"Oh am I?" The big black dragon shrouded himself in mist, and out came a handsome broad man.

"Wrathion!" Anakin said.

"Yes it is me, darling."

"Oh how I've missed you, come inside!"

The dragon man walked with a presence that nearly continued the rumbling, candles flickered to still as he walked by.

"Anduin before you begin, I miss you too, let us sit."

A long conversation began as the two reconnected, before Wrathion slipped his hand across Anduin's.

"Wrathion!"

"My apologizes king, I did not mean to offend."

"No, this, this is everything I wanted!" As he kept into Wrathions arms, and the two became enticed in love.

So here is your lore book passage that comes out before the expansion. In game it doesn't have to be too present obviously because romances are rare, but maybe some side quests that show them overly fraternizing. Nothing over the top, but just something to ship them and satisfy the fanbase?

That is some of the most abysmally generic fan fiction I've read in a long time.

Given whats been going on with Blizzard, I dont think they would head into making a Romance plot line, specially with Central characters. Plus I think Anduin is going to be MIA for awhile for some personal growth and I think Wrathion is going to have his hands very full

I think more because it's the stories most don't want. I wouldn't care personally but would rather see effort into local and between kingdoms politics and anything else than a flirt between already badly written characters. If there's a couple, dude on dude, lady on lady, any way possible, declared as a couple from the beginning without any "he touches his hand and gets goosepumps and kind of a stiffy" no one will mind. Imagine you delve into some Dragonflight zone questline, excited to hear more about ancient kingdoms and more info on pre-Shattering, then it all gets interrupted by the writers of BfA and Shadowlands having a go at quest log softporn.

This has often been a misconception and I think its easy to explain.

Anduin is the Xavier to Wrathion's Magnito, the "relationship" they have doesnt need to be romantic nor do I see a need for it because honestly there are better examples out there in wow of representation that would make sense.

Example? Lorna and Tess, Matthias and Flynn (Canonically confirmed).

Anduin and Wrathion are more like Xavier and Magnito, Anduin wants to bring everyone together through diplomacy, harmony and rational conversation while Wrathion is taking the get-rich-quick approach to it, power over others and dominion to make them see your way, the right way.

Both of them care about Azeroth, both want the world to be a better place, but they are violent people with two very violent logics, Wrathion wants the power to control and rule, Anduin wants the power to bring everyone together and unite them.

They are, ironically, the next 2 natural leaders for the factions that will succeed Alliance/Horde.

Both will likely be leaders of two new big factions to replace the old ones, specifically Anduin's approach of unity through diplomacy and mutual benefit, and Wrathions through imperial dominion over others and possible meritocracy.

As for romance options, I hate to tell you this but Anduin canonically already has a ship and its pretty obvious based on how heavily it was set up who he is going to fall in love with especially the post-ending of Shadowlands.

Taelia is pretty much built to be Anduins future queen, and as for why:

- Anduin has stated many times he wants to marry for love, and he specifically liked people who were humble and respectable, hes also flat out rejected Tess because he believes he isnt worthy of her.
- Meanwhile, he knows Bolvar's pet name for Taelia, literally regarding her as his shining star, which she is happy about.
- He invites her personally to return to Stormwind with him, she later obliges.
- Flynn initally had a thing for Taelia but its revealed he had unrecipicated love because Taelia wasnt interested in him, and its very clear shes interested in Anduin.
- They're both appropriate age range for each other.
- Calia is her canonical mother and its pretty much confirmed in all but absoleute admission. Besides which, Calia acts as a psudo mother figure to Anduin in the novels and he is responsible for her revival, and indirectly speaking, responsible for bringing Bolvar and Taelia back together.
- Bolvar was naturally Anduin's ward before he was the Lich King, it stands to reason he probably will be again, as its confirmed his role as the lich king is over in the final act of the Shadowlands, and Taelia asks him to be a father this time, which he confesses he will try to be.
- All this is a roundabout way of saying, they have heavily, if not outright shipped Anduin+Taelia since BFA.

Wrathion is literally the "Rival" to Anduin hes the perfect Anti-Anduin, both care about the world in ways that completely oppose the other, Wrathion wants domination and control, Anduin wants peace and unity.

Theres even the point where Wrathion advises Anduin with the fact that both admit their family was killed by the other, they have very little reason to be together in a romantic way.

Wrathion is also still technically only 8-10 years old in dragon years, he was 2 in MoP and it has been approximately 6-9 years since MoP lorewise due to some expansions taking place immediatley after another (See BFA and Shadowlands).

Anduin is canonically only about 22-24 years old lore wise as of Dragonflight which puts him around the same age as Taelia.

Wrathion will have a partner, male, female, non-binary, it just wont be Anduin.
