thanks for zll the good tips, I've never tried assembly and vault. Every time people are creating groups for it they insist on only accepting people who already know the content :/

edited to add, speaking of casino slot vibes... those goddamn charms.... unless I'm misunderstanding something... getting one with a single buff for your class is doable.... more or less, still takes a ton of rng... but creating one with multiple buffs? I think I'm not even going to try anymore, cause I finally got a second charm with buff I wanted, extracted aforementioned buff (along with all the other buffs, because apparently that's how it works) tried to change one of the non class buffs to a second class one... except which buff you change to is ALSO a roulette and I essentially wasted a whole bunch of chars/mats. sigh...
Yeah the charms are a very long term project. Also every time you reroll through imbue you have a chance for the effect to go all the way up to +10%.

I've done a bit of PvP, I have one lucky gem from the crests you get from battle pass (a 3/5 Howler's Call which is not ideal for PvP). Nothing awakened or anything. I win more than I lose and I've been MVP and often am top 3 kills with my DH. I assume that once you hit gold rank where you are facing much more organized PvPers that every bit will count but at low and mid levels I think skill and built are more important.

? Assembly does not require a group. You just show up and pick up buffs. And vault can be done with matchmaking. No one asks you anything. Just don't let the wardens alert the immortals (and if they do, save cooldowns).

I meant groups for vaults, their messages looking for players with experience let me to believe that the content is quite demanding or tricky

Thus I've prioritised other types of content

Gems could be a fun thing to have but for now I don't care for fear as I don't have any clear challenge to take on.

    oh
I've got quite the collection of small useless charms in my bank/chest. I haven't taken the time to search for a way to make this useful. I'll look into this tomorrow I guess.
Come back when you reach paragon 30 and enter Hell2. Then you'll see the difference.

You people are leveling Paragon and Hell? I'm still regular level 29. Where are you rushing to?
All right, gentleperchildren, let's review. The year is 2024 - that's two-zero-two-four, as in the 21st Century's perfect vision - and I am sorry to say the world has become a pussy-whipped, Brady Bunch version of itself, run by a bunch of still-masked clots ridden infertile senile sissies who want the Last Ukrainian to die so they can get on with the War on China, with some middle-eastern genocide on the side

You can add 10 Legendary Crests to a elder rift run.
Can you do it with 10 Rare Crests?

If not, this is clearly in favor of spending money

Vault runs are not at all demanding and are very fast. Plus you don't need to look for a group, just go to the NPC and queue. If you got at the time the Vault opens, you'll find a group immediately.

I entered Hell 2 at paragon 30 as well and I think I should have spent at least a couple of levels more at Hell 1. Wait for CR to get above 1,2k and then try it. As soon as the CR debuff is gone, the content gets so much easier. The only content I'll keep pushing despite the CR debuff is challenge rifts (at 41 now, paragon 36, trying to find one without the fallen shaman boss)

What do you mean rushing? At Paragon 30, Hell 2 unlocks ... it's natural that you move forward with progression when it becomes available. Also, there are like what .. 800 paragon levels? Paragon 30 doesn't mean anything.

Otherwise it's the same as telling people that struggle with raid progression in WoW the same thing ... where are you rushing? You can just clear this content in the next expansion.

It's not wow though. There will be no next expansion. But this is how I play FF14. I don't raid in current.

And this is how you play f2p games as a free player - you don't rush.

My bad. I forgot that a game's pace is dictated by YOU and not by each individual based on how much time they have to kill.

And even if you take it slow, without putting in quite a bit of money to upgrade the gems, you'll still end up unable to progress through hell 2 when you reach paragon 30 and have to fsrm through hell 1 for a while.

i support mtx all day long if it means i cla play DI for free

hell bring 5 times more mtx into diablo 4 and give it to us for free

let whales pay for my gaming and having fun :0

Oh lol this is ridiculous. There is a Battle Point Cap as well. So many hidden caps.

They said they already earned 20+ millions with DI. I also despise this kind of games, but it's obviously what people want. Money shows it, and thus they will keep doing it (It's no coincidence they waited for DI and see how much it made before showing how OW2 is being monetized too. And honestly, seeing the numbers, it tells most people are cool with this and its pretty profitable, i'll do the same in their place).

The best solution is just to deal with it, understand this is not for you, or any game that goes this path, and move on. Plenty of games and companies out there that don't use such systems.

Fighting it is a lost cause. There isn't much we could do besides not cashing in. But they got the money, so case is closed.

I'll just hope that D4 isn't abused too or i'll have to move from that too.

But being frank, it's not the end of the world if thats the case.

yeah, I just use matchmaking in game, don't even bother trying to join advertised groups. so far I've had one vault fail once and one vault that I think bugged out on us on third floor (there were no guards left that I could see but tiles remained grayed out to proceed to the next floor) so we didn't get to go all the way through. but overall just make sure to manage your health and stick with the group as much as possible. the mechanics are - kill everything that moves, loot everything that drops, otherwise avoid the usual things that you would elsewhere, like mob AoE's etc. you only have one health pot instead of 3, but there are provided health fountains that drop those ground pots - use them wisely, but DO use them.

that's it. that's the vault. I went in first time completely blind at lvl 47 and it was fine. I've been to groups with all paragon players, and groups with a mix of paragon and still leveling players.

edited to add... I have a feeling that paragon 30 is going to be the point where I'm going to stop playing regularly (or at all). I'm not having TOO much trouble playing on hell 1, but without paying, and grinding like crazy - I'm having trouble getting my combat rating up. currently I decided to only open free chest in legacy of horadrim, to both see how long it will take me to save up enough aspirant keys to open all the possible chests and to see if I get lucky and get that horadric gem thingie or whatever (I don't have much hope on that second though since it seems like rng for it to drop is pretty bad - another one of those "spend money" schemes, this time on so-called discounted packs that contain crests and keys)

You can reach that level in a day at a very casual pace, that's like 2 hours of play. I was 35 by the end of my first session. The game has been out for weeks. There is taking your time and then there is not playing at all.

People aren't rushing, they're just playing. You've just spent more time writing replies in this thread than you have actually engaging with the game. It's no wonder you don't understand the problems people have with it.

Which in theory sounds great till you realize there is 0 longevity because the end game is based around milking said whales.

This is both a problem from the MTX but also from design of the game. Its very repetitive which will get stale anyway.

Very few games can do "end game" well

You can see the irony yea?

    I play about 30 to 60 minutes a day and I’m still level 54.

People at P30 and above are playing AT LEAST two hours a day, that’s far from playing “a casual mobile game”.

Everyone plays like he wants, but if you treat DI like D3 you’ll reach the paywalls way sooner than “expected”.

That's the nature of ARPG's though. There's a story and when it's over you run the same stuff day after day trying to get upgrades. That's how ARPG's work. It may be true that a mobile ARPG won't have any staying power but that may have to do with the nature of the genre in addition to the other stuff.
