OT: I'm not sure praising a regime for banning a product you have the complete and total freedom to not engage with is a good thing. Particularly not when the regime in question is literally the epicentre of the monetization model itself and a substantial part of the reason it's profitable to make games in this way in the first place. If we put aside the social media post story for a second, a country that bans Diablo Immortal but allows Genshin Impact to exist is either unhappy with the level of bribery/kickbacks from Blizzard or is caving to Twitter weeb pressure rather than actually applying logical and consistent decision-making. Neither of these is praiseworthy.

I'm not praising the regime; I'm celebrating the outcome, and the ironic circumstances of their making despite of the regime.

China has banned its own companies as well such as Tencent which is the biggest owner company when it comes to videogames and such, now Tencent must depend from outside the country, and they also banned Fortnite. It is extremely hard to do most types of businesses with that country in general due to communism.

China is one of the countries were abortion is fully legal.

Asides from going completely off-topic, China is also the country with the biggest demographic problem in the world, their males outnumber their females by around a hundred million, and abortion has fueled that issue even more (the people who do that are actually very few but due to their other mistakes it is a bigger problem for them), the main reason that caused it is that they prevented families from having more than one child while at the same time they gave huge favorism to males, bringing them in this mess that they are today, and to add the whole communism tyrrany and the fact that the whole country is basically a prison.

What is a little strange is why some people here and on other internet places say negative things about Diablo Immortal and they are mostly aimed at the economy, the product is 100% free to finish the whole content and it is the mmo of Diablo basically, payment is completely optional and it is the individual's problem if they spend money on it. It would also be great if Diablo 2 Resurrected and Diablo 4 had free trial like Diablo 3.

First level on a video game used to be free when you brought a video game magazine and got a free demo disc that came in the magazine.

Now they give you the demo with free to play then charge you out the tits for the actual game then you are supposed to thank them for being so generous

Also, THE WHOLE CONTENT IS NOT FREE. Awakening a gem is locked behind payment with no other option, not to mention that it will take a F2P or even light spender several months to upgrade even a 1 star gem to rank 10.

Waiting for you to tell me how it's 100% free if you ignore some of the features and choose not to participate in certain activities.
