I don't imagine so, Blizz probably knows that the playerbase that finds retail too hard probably doesn't need to be overloaded with extra mechanics like pronouns.

Correct, it was a fantasy game. But now it's a fantasy game that has to adhere to certain very specific gender "neutrality" options that are being enforced by real world issues. Making it not so much fantasy anymore and less enjoyable if you're looking to spend some time away from all troubles.

Once you create your character, that's it, you are separated from the gender neutrality issues you have.
Let's be real, even the most brain washed person will always see Body 1 = Male, and Body 2 = Female. There is no getting away from basic human evolutionary recognition that has exited since we walked upright and before. The uncanny valley exists for a reason.
The game doesn't need to say Male or Female for everyone to know what they are picking.

I can only imagine that the majority of Blizzard's employees don't want to do this either, but is pretty much the result of 1 or a couple of people pushing for this.

Reminds me of that time my company employed a snowflake (btw. terrible employee who barely even worked) who made us remove all the female toilets and replace them with gender neutral ones. As soon as they left the company we returned all the female toilets.

Seriously though, for all I care, they can and should add extra pronouns or whatever. I just feel that it is very dumb to remove the terms "male" and "female" for the sake of it.

No one is denying your right to exist (talking point). You are denying objective reality. Check any biology textbook ever printed. Actually talk to trans people and they'll (for the most part) tell you they don't honestly believe they can change their sex.

Additionally, the game does not force you to play a toon based around your biological sex. And you can even sex change in the game after character creation. This is just a gross virtue signal and yet more signs of how awful San Francisco is.

Nice strawman. Nobody talked about changing your sex. This change is not for binary trans people who want to experience their true gender in all senses of the word, it's for genderqueer or non-binary people who want to mix and match. Granted, it's a minority of a minority, but does it warrant any, much less this level of, outrage?

Also, everything a corporation does is virtue signaling. They have no motive but profit, obviously this is to garner goodwill amongst a segment of users that they can then exploit later on.
