Affleck and Cavill are 2 of the best actors around for Batman and Superman

Seriously, DC could not do better for those two roles in this current climate.. so if movies with them tank, it really isn't them - it's a production issue that is failing.

We all saw them in the movies, they looked awesome.

Frankly, I'd love to see more of both in future movies. There is hope for Ben Affleck he is back in Aquaman 2, and Cavil is been heavily rumoured to appear in Black Adam 2, which if he does and that movie is a hit, getting rid of Cavil as Superman would be stupid.

But I heard it was the old Warner heads, like Anne Sarnoff that wanted to get rid of him, which is why a new contract wasn't affirmed. They say Cavill was difficult and demanding, but grapevine was that he was standing up for the fans, and they were trying to undercut him because actually Sarnoff and co wanted Batman and Superman replaced by Batgirl and Supergirl - and this is the motivation and so called source of "Cavil being difficult".

i mean if this is true, it makes sense, Cavill is an A grade list actor, you have to pay him accordingly, not try to get him dirt cheap, if that is your only way of signing him, you know full well he won't agree with it, and you would "let him go" and can blame it on him for being too difficult or greedy, when secretly you' are the one balking cos you want a different direction for DC

But off course, she is gone, and Zaslav reportedly wants Superman and Batman to be the front runners of a DC universe as their biggest heroes.. which off course makes sense. and Ben Affleck and Cavil are almost universally loved as Batman and Superman, even by people who didn't like the movies they were in that much.

I would much rather have Robert Pattinson Batman movies than Ben Affleck ones.

I don't post that often, and when I do it's often in bursts. I always lurk though.

Each to their own and all that but Affleck was useless and pattison batman was the worst I've ever seen. First batman movie I've ever turned off half way through and been watching since 80s

Isn't Supergirl movie supposed to kill off Cavill? So if that movie happens then Cavill is gone i believe.

Even if he seems like a cool guy, it's hard to know how they are to work with. Also don't think they are mutually exclusive so he can still be a cool guy outside, but I wouldn't surprise that if any actor turns out to be difficult to work with. Don't take this as I think he is, i just don't know and rumours in entertainment business is not something you should trust anyway...

But yeah I would like to see a proper Batman movie with Ben Affleck. I liked the portrayal of him in BvS, shame the movies he has been in aren't that good.
Also would like to see Pattinson in another movie...so tough choice for me. Want to see where they take it, the recent movie kinda left more to be desired. Though I think I would take Affleck over Pattinson if push comes to shove...

Honestly, I don't mind either personally. But, for me, Affleck isn't the best Batman. I do like his Batman more than Bail's but then I personally don't really like the Dark Knight trilogy.

And Cavill is good, but honestly, it terms of live action Superman I have seen her is only above Dean Cain that I have seen.

So there's a chance we will eventually see Superman vs Darkseid one day? Please say it is so.

Baby steps, it's turning in favour of Cavill, slowly, but it's still not decided I hear.

Cavill appearing in Black Adam would be a huge boost to him continuing as Superman, especially if Black Adam does well.

Cavill's chance of getting a good deal is much better with Zazlav in charge than it was with Sarnoff - especially now that Batgirl is scrapped and Affleck is replacing Keaton in Aquaman 2 re-shoots - if Cavill makes a Black Adam appearance and it's a huge success.. I think the chances of seeing more of Cavill as superman and Affleck as batman are guaranteed.

what is not guaranteed though would be if they go ahead with finishing off Snyder's Justice league vision.

Afterall, they could keep those two actors and change the DCEU - reshoot the flash, cutting Ezra miller out, and use it to reset the DCEU with the same Cavill and Affleck, but in annew timeline - rather than killl them off and replace them with Batgirl and Supergirl.

They could co-opt the flash to get a new version reset and laucnh both a new Superman and Batman movie with Cavill and Affleck reprising their roles but in a changed universe.

They could scrap the Flash entirely and still reset the DCEU, or continue it with Darkside Snyder based Justice League 2 and 3 in addition to more superman and batman movies.

Man, I don't know about Cavill. Not that great of an actor. Wish they had used this guy for Geralt. Mat Michelson was the perfect choice.

Meh, to me it seems Mads Mikkelsen always acts the same role.

I'll still die on the hill that Anson Mount would have been a better Geralt, but for Superman, I can't think of any current actor who would be better than Cavill.

Doesn't feel right to me with this picture. Maybe it's the armor that looks weird and his head too small. I like Mads though, but doesn't feel like a Geralt for me.
Maybe cause I've seen him as a villain constantly which I think he's perfect for.

Cavill can’t play for dear life (outside, maybe, in man of U.N.C.L.E.), which sometime work with his role (mission impossible or witcher) but clearly failed as superman and even more deeply failed as Clark Kent.
Affleck was a good Batman and an excellent Bruce Wayne, to my surprise. Sad he left the role because of his personal issues.

The role issue with the DCEU was obviously Snyder, who’s a terribly overrated director with no substance and a questionable, but highly recognizable, style.

Watch some of his lesser known Danish movies like Another Round, Adam's Apples, or Pusher.

Affleck was not a bad batman. I liked him more than Robert Pattinson. I liked Christian bale more. Cavil was great as superman. He was the best at superman since Christopher reeves.

Well here's my contrarian take, I don't think it really matters. There are thousands and thousands of people who could do just fine in either!
