Just because I'm curious how much of these will come true

-Immortal will be gotten by someone day 1.
-Black Proto Drakes are going to be more common but we aren't going to have a sea of them
-Immortal will absolutely see to boosting for Black Protos being extremely difficult even at ICC Gear
-Blizz wont remove the Meta achievement this time around.
-3 Drake Sarth will be downed by first reset completed in first day!
-This will apply to fresh servers and legacy servers
-Normal Mode Ulduar will be cleared on release day
-Algalon will be killed second reset
-Alone in the Darkness will be killed by the third reset but I'm a little shakey on that one
-Potentially be a period where "Ulduar is taking too long" might be a complaint
-Rusted and Ironbound Protos are going to be everywhere will be a hot GDKP commodity
-TOC will only lock heroic for the first week
-Tribute to Immortality will be Achieved by the second reset will still be EXTREMELY rare
-ICC will not have the attempt mechanic nor the initial gating Lich King Available day 1.
-ICC Buff will still happen and will scale....but I feel a few guilds will clear Heroic before the buff starts
-At 30% buff GKDPs of Heroic ICC will end up becoming common
-As such Invincible will be a slightly more common sight
-Ruby Sanctum will be largely ignored cause it sucks and most of us don't even remember it was there in the first place
-Like seriously WoTLK Classic is literally being carried by Nostalgia for ICC and Ulduar

    It apparently lasted <10 minutes

Weird race with lots of contention - one guild cleared Nax/Maly/Sarth first but it was Sarth+2 not +3. Another guild did clear N/M/S+3 first, but they used two raid teams so they could raid in parallel. And lastly of course we have yet another guild, who cleared N/M/S+3 but did it in succession with one raid team. Who won? That's up for the fanbois to argue over Expect delicious drama.

    But did anyone get immortal?

Not sure if anyone is tracking that, or who's actually going for it. The top guilds all prioritized speed kills, not Immortal. I don't think it'd be particularly hard to achieve for people who really want it - question is, does anyone actually really want it?

I imagine in a speed run no one dying would be the goal..
The time saved not resurrecting people and the extra dps would be higher than any time being more reckless

    And you'd be wrong.

Not only do speed runs routinely involve INTENTIONAL deaths for all sorts of reasons, but often it's also more time-efficient to either 1. run high-risk/high-reward plays that may accept death as a consequence 2. choose strategies that don't care about safe play, because that's faster than playing it safe.

Would an ideal speed run also contain 0 deaths? Probably. But this is a different kind of speed run - it's not a time trial where you have 500,000 attempts. It's a one-time-only world first run.

Def probably speedrun for those raids who complete it first day. Immortal and undying can wait.

    1. Why is obsidian sanctum, a 3.3.5 raid part of phase 1?

    2. What the hell are they doing making the raids harder?? Catering to the uber ultra hardcore is how we've ended up with the "go go go" and "end game or bust" mentality of retail as well.

That was ruby sanctum obsidian was in the from the start of wrath.
All I ever wanted was the truth. Remember those words as you read the ones that follow. I never set out to topple my father's kingdom of lies from a sense of misplaced pride. I never wanted to bleed the species to its marrow, reaving half the galaxy clean of human life in this bitter crusade. I never desired any of this, though I know the reasons for which it must be done. But all I ever wanted was the truth.

Entirely justified to forget it existed though.... Pretty sure no one's going to do it after the first week in classic if at all

imagine confusing obsidian sanctum with ruby sanctum.

also they are not "catering to the uber ultra hardcore" they are catering to normal fucking people, even back in original wotlk the launch raids were pathetically easy, now they are just sorta easy, like hell back in wotlk my raid was in all leveling greens when we full cleared the place in 1 night.

You seriously underestimate how easy most of wotlk naxx is.

    If you put 30% dmg/hp on something that's a 2-3 out of 10 in difficulty it doesn't suddenly jump to a 7+.

In fact I'd argue that giving naxx just sliiightly more bite will make it more interesting for a little while longer for casual players.

Not really sure how pugging in WoW works tbh. Only ever pugged stuff in FFXIV and that's pretty easy. Loot rules are the ones the game gives you. But here I've been hearing about GDPK and whatever else. My goal is to get the healing legendary from Ulduar before Cataclysm Classic happens, IF it happens. But I have zero idea of any of that is feasible with pugging content.

pugged all the way up to 25 man KT. raid time was up didnt give it one attempt. absolutely facerolled it. at least 15 of us were pugs.
