    GPU Fans going Nuts Constantly

I'm using a 2070 Super Gigabyte version and for whatever reason when I built a new PC with this card, the fans are constantly revving up.
I've also noticed that the card runs between 80-83c at max load. I have this paired with a 5900x CPU.

    Nothing is overclocked.
I have no idea whats going on.

Here is a video of me just playing WoW.

3 things deeply concern me with you task manager break down, what the hell are you using in the background to cause you to reach 98% GPU utilisation, also, what are you running that's taking up 78% of your memory value, because you must be running something in the background that's leading to your insane levels of utilisation.

    reinstall drivers

80-83c is fine, GPUs target a temperature and for the 2070 supers that is around 83c

Temps might be fine, but 98% utilization in a CPU heavy game is not.

Do what this guy says and see if it helps.

Yeah, the gpu usage is excessive, but a bad driver install might be the reason. No point speculating until a fresh one has been done imo.

The only thing I had running here was WoW and task manager.

I’m using the latest nvidia drivers that came out yesterday to Support the 4090.

Is it not normal for GPUS to be at 100% utilization in games? I honestly have no idea.

My friend is giving me a 3090 on Friday so I hope this issue goes away.

You might want to screenshot what processes are running, so we can see if there is something running that shouldn't be.

Your GPU load is definitely abnormal.

Edit: And yeah, do what other users have said, completely uninstall the drivers and reinstall them.

    Few questions:

    1. Date of manufacture of your GPU. Are you the first owner?

    2. Did you try to run your Wow with add-ons disabled?

    3. What's your monitor max refresh rate? Did you try to turn off the other monitor before checking your GPU load on your gaming monitor?

    4. Why Gigabyte... (sorry I had to, I very much dislike that particular company and their planned obsolescence tactics)

If you were playing something like CoD it'd be fine, but WoW is very heavily limited by CPU

Did you update your drivers recently? Most recent Nvidia drivers might be the culprit, maybe downgrade.

Well I'm not sure what I did to fix it other than do a quick restart of my computer. Now when I'm running WOW it's only 65-75c.
but its still sitting at around 98% GPU usage.

Also keep in mind I run the game on Ultra or 10 on the slider.

    EDIT nvm...it's still at 81c

It should really not be running that hot in WoW unless you have it set for like 5K DSR or something.

What resolution are you running the game at?

Have you reinstalled the driver like Temp name suggested?

As I posted earlier too, check Task Manager to see what processes are running and determine if something is running that shouldn't be.

What happens to the utilization when you leave wow?
    :::: Intel 10900k w/ Corsair H100i

It sits anywhere between 0-2% utilization at 44c idle.

here are some more screenshots of my WoW running.

I could also post my DxDiag if that helps, but I'm not sure if that contains any personal compromising information in public.

I also did clean re-install of the latest NVIDIA drivers. Same issue.

I can see running everything on max settings, 10 on the slider bars, at 1440p. I dont see any issue here, the 2070 Super runnin maxed settings at 1440p, yeah ur gonna have high GPU usage, esp in raids or pvp, and because of that ur fans are gonna rev up.

You can change the fan curve and slow them down, make it less noisy, but its gonna run even hotter.

3090 will run it much much better at 1440p. tho u could use another 16gb of ram

Try running on 7 instead of 10, cap the framerate at whatever your monitor can display, and cap background fps at like 30 or something

Doing that, I don't go above 40-50% GPU util in WoW

Also just do a check for viruses just to be safe, there's probably nothing, but might as well

Yeah, the 3 sliders.. turn that shizz down, as Temp says. Its forcing the GPU to draw shit that you literally cant see. And cap the framerate, otherwise, yeah, in places that arent CPU limited itll try to run at like 4000 fps.

Also, Ultra High shadows are pointless. They do make it about 50% tougher to render each frame though. Turn that shizz off.
