There is no "lore" reason for not knowing. Everyone should know every flight path the first time they interact with a flight master if we are trying to use lore as justification. As why would they hide their network of travel until you first get there on foot? Why wouldn't order halls, factions, whatever train locations of flight masters into new recruits?

It is purely a game play decision.

I mean yeah but as many others have pointed out there are the flight path toys that people can buy. extremely handy for alts, and they aren't too expensive. Blizzard made those for this exact scenario

im pretty sure when dk and dh were "current" they didnt have all flypoints unlocked... not sure about now though

why the hell dracthyr doesnt have all flightpaths discovered? its so hard to move around the world.
dk did in wotlk, as it started at higher level than usual. as far as i remember dh got the same treatment. only monk didnt out of the new classes as it started from lvl 1.

check the class description on the character creation screen.
anything that doesnt start from lvl 1 is considered a hero class.

just checked, newly created DK and DH actualy dont have everything free by default, you have to use the map...

im pretty sure they have SOME flypoints, not all... which makes sense as it was back then when there was not easy way to unlock them all, as it is now...
anyway, it renders your argument "why not like other hero classes" moot, as they have it as other hero classes

The previous Hero Classes (Demon Hunter and Death Knight) were denizens of Azeroth before their transformation so it makes sense they would have explored. Dracthyr have been locked away on the Dragon Isles for 10000 years, it would make zero sense for them to have the entirety of Azeroth explored with flight paths available.

And apparently the other hero classes don't even get the FP's anymore, like they used to.

DK's only get fp's on the old world. You still have to find all spots on TBC and Wrath.

Demon Hunters are ellves that have been around to the other Lands. DK's are all races that have been around to the other locations. Drakthyr have not been around to the outside world, it makes sense.

How much do you hate playing this game that having to discover flight paths on character that can pretty much fly from as soon as you arrive in Azeroth is that big of a hassle?

These characters have been asleep for 10000 years (or is it 20000) and obviously have never been on any of the continents post sundering.

Just use the Heirloom toys. Otherwise why would any Dracthyr know of the flight points? When they have been locked away for 20,000 years

They can use scouting maps to get flight paths. If Blizzard wanted them to have to explore they would have disabled those heirlooms.
