At least there is a silver lining for the Eagles, that shit missed call didn't cost you the season in the playoffs.

Sure they laid an egg and STILL were in the game until the refs decided to say 'hold my beer' to finish the game off. For 'getting your ass kicked' I think a lot of teams wouldn't mind being in that position. Well before the refs got involved that is.

The worst part about that loss is the missed facemask. Not because I think it cost them the game (it didn't), but because it led to an injury of one of the Eagles best playmakers that will keep him off the field for weeks. The NFL doesn't protect it's players, plain and simple. If you can't issue a penalty for a play like that after a review then what are you trying to say to these guys about your commitment to their safety? The officiating just gets worse and worse every year and they're never held accountable. It's such a farce.

It didn't help. That missed call cost the Eagles the ball and ended up giving the other team 3 points. It should have been Eagle ball WITH 15 yards and a 1st down. You saying the game plays out the same then? Maybe. But it wasn't in the hands of the players anymore. It would have been 1st and 10 at the 48 yard line only trailing 23-21. Instead when they got the ball back it was 26-21 and they started at the 25. One obvious missed call caused a lot to happen.

It doesn't really matter to me because the game is over. We'll never know what the end result of the game would be if the facemask penalty was called. The Eagles had a lot of opportunities to win that game and they couldn't. I'm not going to waste energy blaming the refs for the result of the game. I'd rather see the refs held accountable for all of the missed calls that end in injury. The quality of reffing in the past decade has been in serious decline. They'll throw the most ridiculous roughing the passer and taunting penalties but never have to answer for their own fuck ups. They didn't throw flags when the Jags safety targeted Juju and MVS in the same game but they'll throw a flag when CJG hits a player out of bounds while both players are still in bounds? I can't count how many times I've seen Hurts get slammed as he's sliding without a flag thrown, but Heinikie successfully baits Brandon Graham into a bs roughing flag?

It's a joke. To make matters worse, players and coaches just get fined when they criticize the ref teams so there's no feedback system to actually improve enforcement of the rules. And the idea that they can't retroactively throw a flag during review when a penalty is as clear as day as that facemask is just embarrassing.

I don’t understand how to be a Giants fan this year. I’m such a stats and logic person that I have trouble being a fan sometimes. Like in 2007, it was, hey this has been fun but the Patriots are gonna crush us, so no reason to get my hopes up, right? Always felt like I missed out on some of the joy of that season because I kept expecting it to end.

Same thing this year - Giants are 7-2 and seemingly have no right to be, so I’m just waiting for the other shoe to drop instead of enjoying the ride.

Giants apparently showing interest in Odell Beckham. Fuck no.

Over the past 5 years, Beckham has averaged 600 yards and 4 tds per season. WR is one of the deepest positions in the NFL.

Even over his supposed renaissance with the Rams last year, he averaged a woeful 6.4 yards/target.

He’s had a number of very serious injuries, including an acl tear and problems with both shoulders.

He’s a character concern - when he left the Giants he was quoted saying something to the effect that he was the one bringing fans to the stadium. Yup - one of the NFL’s oldest franchises, 4 Super Bowls, and they owe their popularity to OBJ. Guy is a legend in his own mind.

The moment things go bad he starts complaining.

Nope, now you’re banged up and on the wrong side of 30, had your career year 9 years ago. Buh bye!

In other more stupid news, Dennis Allen decided after thinking it over that "nah, I'm sticking with Andy Dalton" is the right choice.

I figured he'd be better than he was with the Raiders, but I guess not. He inherits mediocre teams and turns them into disasters.

Can only hope he is not retained after this year.

Looks like I'm getting a refund for my tickets this weekend, our game was moved to Detroit because we're going to get between 3 and 6 FEET of snow between tonight and Sunday.

So it was ruled incomplete and yet the replay assistant changed it to a touchdown without a challenge flag being thrown. Like I understand getting it right, but they only step in every now and then and just change the ruling. Do it all the time or not at all.

After watching 2 Titans games in a row, I'll never understand why Todd Downing refuses to give the ball to Henry on 3rd and short as much as he does.

What’s wrong with Rodgers? His timing and accuracy are the worst I’ve seen from him. I thought maybe love was in.

Nothing has ever motivated Rodgers like revenge.

The Bills might have issues actually getting to Ford field due to how snowed in west NY is right now.

They're on the plane, and flying. Apparently all of Buffalo came out to shovel their driveways, meanwhile the East Side hasn't seen a plow in a day and a half.

Running and scrambling QBs killing the Patriots. Seems like every game now.

10-3 win on a last min return TD, sure, I'll take it. FTJ

Melvin Gordon fumbling at the goal line again and the FG getting blocked is a good representation of the Broncos season so far.
