I pretty much only use it to follow sports and sporting events. Not going to lie. Like zero politics. Got to say its cancer.

So apparently there's a .txt list floating around the right wing spheres of the internet that list all "Antifa" accounts. People are using this list to mass report "Antifa" posters and get them flagged in some kind of auto ban system? Apparently this works like WoW where if enough people report you simultaneously, you just trigger an auto ban on that person with zero human review.

Also, what defines an account as "Antifa" is basically any semi large to large follower accounts that post general left wing or even center policies.

Man, good thing Musk made humor legal again and restored free speech.

More proof that this never was about free speech, but controlling who got to speak. If this keeps up, Twitter's going to become a money black hole for Musk (well, more than it already is) and eventually disappear into the void of bankruptcy.

Musk posted a bunch of "slides" he used in a meeting. In the "payments" section, the slide was left blank.

    https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1596718851097755648

The entire thread is filled to the brim with "lul libs mad you're winning" and 5000 people trying to get Musk to green light their crypto coin as payment for Twitter.

The sheer hilarity that Twitter is either going to be a dystopian crypto scam site or dead in under a year is something I'd have never expected a year ago.

Really, anyone not insane should be getting the fuck off that site. It's a security risk. Not just because security is for shit, but because Musk almost certainly will, on request by the "right" people, hand over everything he's got on a given user for doxxing and other practices. There's even likely language in the TOS about sharing info with "partners" that might cover it, legally.

Normally, that shit wouldn't be used maliciously, obviously, but Musk's already demonstrated malice repeatedly. He's got enough back data for it to still be a problem, but you can't keep giving him more.

The account that I found out about the list from "fuckyouiquit" is a meme account that posts stories/logs of people getting abused by their managers in some way or another and then just quitting their job on the spot.

It's such an extreme self report that the right is full capital-fascist when they get enraged by workers expressing their freedom to quit their job.

Twitter grapples with Chinese spam obscuring news of protests

Twitter’s radically reduced anti-propaganda team grappled on Sunday with a flood of nuisance content in China that researchers said was aimed at reducing the flow of news about stunning widespread protests against coronavirus restrictions.

Reduced as in down to 15 to manage a 200 million plus global users.

Numerous Chinese-language accounts, some dormant for months or years, came to life early Sunday and started spamming the service with links to escort services and other adult offerings alongside city names.

The result: For hours, anyone searching for posts from those cities and using the Chinese names for the locations would see pages and pages of useless tweets instead of information about the daring protests as they escalated to include calls for Communist Party leaders to resign.

“This is a known problem that our team was dealing with manually, aside from automations we put in place,” said the former employee, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to avoid retribution for disclosing internal processes.

Some groups, including those dealing with human rights issues, safety concerns and deceptive foreign influence operations, have been reduced to a handful of people or no staff at all.

Sunday’s campaign was “another exhibit where there are now even larger holes to fill,” the ex-employee said. “All the China influence operations and analysts at Twitter all resigned.”

The campaign was spotted by researchers at Stanford University and elsewhere. Stanford Internet Observatory Director Alex Stamos said his team is working to determine how widespread and effective it is.

“Fifty percent porn, 50 percent protests,” said one U.S. government contractor and China expert, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss intelligence issues. “Once I got 3 to 4 scrolls into the feed” to see posts from earlier in the day, it was “all porn.”

Hrm, teams responsible for dealing with astroturfing bots are gone and Twitter is also seeing record engagement according to Elon.

    Curious.

Again how is it cancer when people use it for useful things?

ANY social media these days would turn out the same way, twitter is not the issue - people are.

As far as I know, this was Elon Musk's Twitter post this morning.
And woe betide the creature who steps into his garden. Heh heh

CNN to Elon Musk after sharing fake headline: ‘Be Better’

Musk’s tweet contained an screenshot of an image that falsely showed that CNN had ran a chyron on the air saying “Elon Musk could threaten free speech on Twitter by literally allowing people to speak freely.”

Readers online quickly pointed out the image, first created in April, was fake and no such headline ever ran on the network, and a link to an AP Fact Check was attached to the billionaire’s tweet.

“CNN aired no such report about Musk “threatening free speech,” and the chyron was digitally altered to add the text,” the April fact check read. “The image purporting to be from a CNN broadcast originated on a satirical website.”
So, yeah, Musk is now willingly spreading misinformation. Was it worth $44 billion just to pretend you're smart enough to write for TheOnion?

    Lmaoooooooooooooo

Jesus, Elon has ascended into the cringe afterlife.

Apple has mostly stopped advertising on Twitter. Do they hate free speech in America?
    https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/...O-OzcO9D1yBVbg

Another post by multiple people were saying that Elon has been calling and berating advertisers who left. Sorry don't have this tweet, busy. Idk if these tweets were preemptive to the Apple tweet. Calling out an advertiser on Twitters and crying about something that is not close, probably not a good business decision.

He then @ Tim Cook. Love it.

Has Elon clearly indicated on his twitter bio that he is a parody of himself?

He's only been posting attacks on Apple and psyop memes for a day. He got the bad stuff from his dealer.

I'm not sure he considers that worth $8/month.

Its so when james bond inevitably storms his lair he can pull a gun on him because Elon has a name, unlike the bodyguards. Therefore his gun might be able to hit bond.
