This is an absolutely ludicrous statement.

Red light districts (where they exist) are explicitly sexual, advertising sexual services and such. Drag is not overtly sexual at all. It can be, the same way stand-up comedy or stage shows can be, but there's nothing integral to drag itself that is sexual at all.

Trying to prevent kids attending a drag book reading because it's "like taking a child to a red light district" is exactly as wrongheaded and ridiculous an argument as saying letting a kid watch a Disney movie is "like letting them watch hardcore pornography".

Men dressing as women and signing songs or whatnot isn't inherently sexual, if that's where your mind goes that's on you...that's a you problem. A drag show that is meant for an adult audience is a drag show meant for an adult audience, even when they are they typically so because of the humor and the jokes in it are usually meant for an adult audience, not because anything sexual happening or because there's any nudity.

Not all drag shows are meant for an adult audience.

For example, I have never watched a single episode of RuPaul's Drag Race, but it's a show that has 15 seasons, and is rated for 12+. Considering typical US attitudes towards sex and how trigger happy censors are, I'd pay cash money for you to intellectually prove that that is in any way the same as a strip club.
