So is it cool if I think this sounds like a pile o' crap to me? Since we're all, you know, postulating about new stuff no one has seen or tried out yet.
Personally I think they're screwing with game balance at a rate faster than they'll ever be able to get put back together in one single 5 level expansion, but hey that's just me.
I'm sure the fanbois are all over this like a Buddhist on a Twinkie.
"We are also taking a hard look at many of the mandatory PvP talents, such as spell pushback or mechanic duration reductions. While there will always be PvP vs. PvE builds, we’d like for the difference to be less extreme, so that players don’t feel like they necessarily need to spend their second talent specialization on a PvP build."
Why are you removing the PvP utility from priest talents that can be used for pvp then?
Fx the one reducing dmg to you, and increasing healing if you get critted, but also gives 3% passive crit, you ruined that talent for PvE disc who likes BG also.
And the list goes on.
I love this very, very much. <3
Interesting that two very drastic announcements back-to-back (forum change and talent tree change) can be so different from one another in level of awesomeness (with the former having no awesomeness at all, and this one being full of awesome).
A talent point every other level, rather than ever level. So you'll have somewhere in the neighborhood of like, 38 talent points. So we're basically doing 31/21/0 ish specs? Or are they reducing the talent points we get per level?
When I heard the original announcement at Blizzard, I was looking forward to having 51 Point Trees filled with unique talents and no 5% Crit/5% Damage/5% Healing etc talents. Now we're just getting 31 points, it's kinda lame. But, we'll have to wait and see I guess.
Also, lol Diversion from the RealID Bullshit.
this is awesome..
i never understood the "new" talents.. they still looked exacly like the old ones (well almost..)
well cant wait. gief new update! (also post patchnotes here?)
guess this is to help white wash over the realid thing? :P
"before spending that first point. Making this choice comes with certain benefits, including whatever passive bonuses you need to be effective in that role, and a signature ability that used to be buried deeper in the talent trees."
So, I can go dual wield as a fury warrior at lvl 10?? That would be F***ing amazing. Also, Were I a mage, could I assume I'd be getting something like Arcane Blast so soon??
between WTF and awesome for me
looks like our builds are going to be 31/10/0, which I suppose is about the same as they are now, only with smaller numbers
I love my wow, but it just seems more and more like the developers just need to scrap it all and start over. They can't even decide what to do with talents.
i bet my fucking poor salary that improved ghost wolf will stay LOL!
Uh, some people seem to be under the impression that spending 31 points in a tree will get you all of the talents, so there will be no choices between talents any more. At no point is this stated or implied.
Some of us do prefer to level in the spec we intend to play at the cap, because we want an intimate familiarity with them that takes awhile to get if you just respec to it at the cap. I realise that folks like me are the minority, but we are out there. The new LFG tool also helps significantly with this, as people can level entirely through this means. Lastly, as part of the change of trimming out passive damage/healing/avoidance/mitigation/whatever talents in the talent trees means that a lot of people can afford to take "DPS" talents in their non-DPS tree. If you're getting a talent in holy that makes Smite rock -- and you're not taking it at the loss of a talent that buffs your healing -- it might be a nonissue.
Well if Blizz wants to keep the number of talent points put into secondary trees proportional to what we have now (51 in primary + 20 or 40% into others) than i guess we'd get 43 talent points (31 in primary spec +40% for others) which would fit in really well with 85 level cap (1 point at every other level starting from 10 + 1 more at 85).
Very nice overall, but not letting you put points into other trees until you get 31 into your main tree is disturbing.
