    Base mana (level 85)

What will base mana be for the different classes in level 85?

    Bump.

And before anyone answers this question, make sure you know what "Base Mana" means. It's the amount of mana you'd have if you had 0 talent points, no gear, and 0 int. Every level, you gain mana, hp, and a few points in each stat (str, agi, int, etc). So base mana is all the mana gained from leveling (if you ignore all of the int that was gained alongside it).

If you aren't sure how to calculate Base Mana, but you do have a level 85 toon on the PTR, tell me how much mana you have with 0 gear (and 0 mana or int-increasing talent points) and the total amount of int that you have. I can calculate it from there. Also, tell me the mana cost of one or two of your spells (without talents that reduce mana cost) so I can confirm my calculation of your base mana.

Full int gemed on my disc priest i have 50k at 83.

soooooo if that puts it into perspective.... i would guess 60-90k first raid teir of gear.

NOT fully int gemmed i would guess like 10k less

then again paladins where at around 50k in t10

"Full int gemed" has nothing to do with "base" mana. In fact, that's the exact opposite of what I'm asking for. I want to know mana (at 85) with ZERO int. That means 0, none, zip, zilch, NO int. Also, I'm asking for level 85 values. :X

Well sorry i was trying to help?

and i have no idea what your "base mana" will be. and i dont know any person ever that walks around with 0 int.

    ever

You're still missing the point, but thanks for trying.

They mean no gear on, no buffs, no talents.
So basically you only have the mana you get from base intelect, which you get from leveling up, and mana which you get from leveling.

If you have a level 85 toon (that uses mana) on the PTR:
Please post on this thread with a few simple bits of information about your toon.

Please do the following before you post:
    - Remove all talent points.
    - Remove all buffs.

    I'd like to know...
    1. Your class.
    2. Your level. (Ideally, your answer will be 85.)
    3. The exact amount of mana you have.
    4. The exact amount of int you have.
    5. The mana cost of 1 or 2 of your spells.

I got the values for that example from a post on the WoW forums. I'm not certain of their accuracy.
    1. Class = Priest
    2. Level = 85
    3. Mana = 25042
    4. Int = 221
    5. Renew = [insert spell cost], SW:P = [insert spell cost]

The premade characters at 85 have roughly 70-75k hp unbuffed as a dps/healer, the tanks are roughly 90-95k. Again these are premade characters using roughly deepholm level greens. I'll have to check when i get the chance for base mana. My premade shaman has 73k hp and 72k mana, so in 85 dungeon / heroic gear i'd be willing to bet hp/mana pools are going to be about 100-120k. Also, each level from 80-85 has ridiculous stat scaling, I'm talking 2-4k base hp and 1-3k base mana per level depending on your class.

Dendrek, I advise you DO ask them to remove talent points, at least with Priests, as Disc gets a 15% intellect base mastery. Also, be sure not to test it on a Gnome, they have an int racial (5% I think?).

Understandable. When you do check, realize that the information I'm after is not the MAX, but actually the MIN. You can tell me the max if you like, just be sure to include how much int you have so I can reverse calculate it. I don't have the PTR or else I'd do this myself.

And in case you're wondering why I'd care, it's because spell costs are calculated as "xx% of base mana," so it's useful to know what these values actually are. It's unfortunate that Blizzard does not base spell costs on a stat that players can actually understand. (Most players have no clue what "base mana" is, and of those that do, most don't know how it's calculated.)

    [Edit] Good point, Etalia.

    98K, seems insane...

    You are very welcome

Unfortunately, the 85 lock I have on my account is a Gnome. Would you mind taking that into account? I'll just post her numbers as is if you don't.
