Any fights in BoD look like they will need class stacking?

For those who have done some of the testing of the bosses, especially on mythic, do any of the likely hard bosses look like they will need certain classes to stack? Also, which classes and bosses? Thinking of things like Warlocks on G’huun. Does there appear to be anything like that?

If you've got backup DKs for grips, backup Warlocks for ports and backup Rogues for soaking, I think you've got 95% of the potential class stacking scenarios covered in modern day raiding. The other 5% being stacking obnoxiously overtuned specs (e.g. Guardian in Legion).

    For mythic progress?

Just as the clock will hit 3 twice a day you can bet your ass there will be optimal ways to do some bosses that involve class stacking.

That's the way it's always been and the way it always will be.

You said class-stacking, I think you meant warlock, rogue, or DH stacking.

Yes because there has never been an encounter where it was ideal to use 2 of the same tank or 3 of the same healer amirite?

Also as a 10 year member maybe you should remember Paragon's WF of Nefarian with possibly the biggest class stack fest ever of feral druids.

It's amazing people act like this is a recent phenomenon or only pertains to the classes that have been strong recently... false. Always been a thing, always will be a thing, classes used for methods will rotate as the raiding meta rotates.

For mage/monk fight you need classes that can survive big falls, but there is a lot of those.

One thing I've learnt over the years of raid design is always keep spare range dps. You never know when next melee unfriendly fight lands. Plenty of these in uldir, but tbh not the first time, Coven says hi, also in HFC there were quite a few fights where you'd bench melee because ranged were so much better at kiting and killing adds scattered around the room.

Would like to hear if there's any Gateway, Death Grip, and Mass Dispel focused fights in BoD too.

Or immunity soaking, sidewinders advantage, stm overpoweredness, subrogue focus nuke, multiple darkness + spirit links etc etc. There's lots of ways class stacking could be needed. Or has been needed.

    All thanks to Zul.

P.S. You forgot boomkins for Blackhand balconies and Arcane Mages for spine of deathwing concentrated burst window.

Rogues still pump in these type of fights. As in they're still the best.

FWIW, as a hunter, there was a ton of stuff I could "cheese" on the fights during PTR, including (but not limited to, as I didn't do every fight):

Could jump back on the ships if charmed by a siren on whatever fight that is with the ships, due to disengage (warlock portal prob work too?).

Feigning on gronk would make him not throw the tank if you're targetted, negating all the damage during it.

The monk-fight, only deterrence let you immune the knockup for popping magma traps.

    etc

Might need two Shaman for Rastakhan, as he summons Zombie dust totem which mc's two people, Tremor instantly breaks the MC.

With Tremor, there's no need to nuke the Totem in order to break the MC, which is rather nasty as they use CD's while MC'd, you need two Shaman as he summons them in 30 second intervals.

No idea if that is intended as some "pseudo" MC effects aren't broken by Tremor (Like Deathwish on Zul).

Could also foresee another case of KJ on Stormwall blockade, as there are Sirens that force people to jump off the ship and die, people with stuff like Disengage and shit however can bring themselves onto the ship without having to nuke the Sirens.

That said, multi DoT classes might be extremely valueable on Conclave of Chosen as Gonk summons a pack of raptors that chases people, they're not supposed to be stacked up and needed to be kited seperately.
