Why did they nerf Snake Eyes?

I like some of the Outlaw Azerite Traits because they actually change the gameplay a little bit. There is a noticeable difference between playing with Deadshot, Ace Up Your Sleeve and Snake Eyes. But after the nerf to Snake Eyes it is not really worth taking if you have the option of going with Deadshot. I think this is really sad because Snake Eyes offers a different gameplay. Having the possibility to use different traits every week is fun instead of just going with the same "cookie cutter" setup all the time. I like the Deadshot trait, but I don't want to use it all the time if I'm not forced to in order to be competitive.

So I'm just curious of why they nerfed Snake Eyes? Was it just because of the Meme-build or was there also some other reason?

Nice question, i also dont know and the nerf made me depressed.

The azerite pieces i had used to do extra 22'500 for the next 5 sinister strikes...everytime you rolled the bones you used to do 22'500 extra damage.

    My guess?
Its because it promotes a "easier" gameplay that is strong at the same time.

Shitty excuse to nerf it, but it might be the case.

It used to change your entire playstyle...and it was good design in my opinion.
Why the nerf? Because is Blizzard and Blizzard hates fun.

I just really hope it wasn't because of the meme-build, because no one was using that in competitive content.

Right now I'm using 3x Deadshot for High M+ keys when I'm playing Outlaw because I have to do good damage. It's pretty fun. But I get bored of playing with the same setup very quickly so I like to have different options. I just can't go with Snake Eyes right now because it's not fair to the group if I only do 90 % of max damage capacity.

Can i ask you how you got the Chest and Shoulders for Deadshot?

Were you lucky on the casino? Or?

I dont seem to find that trait anywhere unless i was lucky in Mythic+

I think it's a case of Blizz basically saying "We want Azerite traits to change up your playstyles a bit, but not that much." I think it's fairly obvious that the playstyle before the change to Snake Eyes was likely not intended, and Blizz had to make the decision of whether to allow such playstyle or not. As we know, the answer was no.

I suppose with the double-ring Azerite traits coming out, you could potentially have the best of both worlds. Although at this point, I think Blizz wants Snake Eyes to be a happy bonus versus rotation-altering. Add on everyone else is getting double-ring traits, I don't think we're approaching a scenario when one could focus the entire build on the old meme build. I could be wrong, I haven't run the numbers. However, I wouldn't mind having Snake Eyes added onto my Deadshot Azerite gear when I constant get terrible RNG with RtB.

Pure luck my friend. I did nothing to deserve it more than everyone else. RNG you know.

Because they didn't want it to way more powerful than Storm Shadow.

    ...I'll see myself out.

Are you talking about the "meme-build" with daggers and SnD?

Because "normal" use of Snake Eyes just changed your playstyle a little bit

It pretty much was because of the meme-build. It wasn't better than the regular build iirc, but it was (too) good for how little effort it required. And maybe blizzard found that with further scaling it would eventually outperform regular builds.

That said, if you run M+ and want to do good damage, you should have at least 1 x ' Keep your wits about you'-trait.
Deadshot is great; but 1x KYWAY is almost as much dps increase as 2x Deadshot.

It’s just sad because no one was really using the meme build anymore at the time they nerfed it. And for regular use snake eyes was complete fine.

You’re right, 1x KYWAY is the optimal way to go for maximising overall dungeon dps (I know sides like Bloodmallet, so I already knew that ). But I have 3x 390 with Deadshot and I like the increased single target damage so I just use that for now.
