Character Name: Helaku "Dawnstrider" ( sunwalker name ) Ragetotem.

Character Background: Helaku was born in the Barrens, years before the occupying of Mulgore by the tauren and the construction of Thunder Bluff. His early life consisted mostly of honing his hunting skills, migrating through the plains of Kalimdor, hunting various beasts to honor the spirits and seeking the wisdom of their eternal goddess, the Earthmother and sometimes fighting the marauding sons of Zaetar, the centaur.

A life of nomadism and battles, Helaku was always saddened when a brother fell in battle. As he constantly feared for his clan's safety, Helaku oftenly prayed to the Earth Mother, meditating and seeking wisdom. Eventualy, the Mistrunners came across Cairne Bloodhoof and decided to travel together as they were both in desperate situations: they met misterious strangers, green-skins and trolls, whom called themselves "The Horde" . Cairne quickly befriended The Horde's leader, Thrall, and with his help they managed to push the centaur back, eventualy settling in Mulgore and building Thunder Bluff.

Helaku continued following the ways of the Earthmother, meditating for the purpose of seeking wisdom and hunting alongside his tribesmen. One day, on a hunting trip, Helaku and his brethren saw a large, grey Coyote, whom had been terrorising the wilderness lately, tales of it's ferocity spoken in whispers.

Helaku saw this as an ocasion to prove his worth as a seasoned hunter: he engaged the beast alone, without announcing his tribesmen of his attempt. They fought for quite a while, scratching each other but none of them being able to get the upper hand. However, the huge coyote managed to pounce the tauren, his spear thrown away, and it seemed like all was lost for Helaku. As the coyote prepared to bite his neck and kill him, Helaku caught a glimpse of his life: he understood his reckless mistake, and, in a moment that seemed like an eternity, he decided it was not over for him. Empowered by his belief in the Earth Mother and the wish to survive and pledge himself to the balance of nature, Helaku managed to get a grip of the beast's throat, breaking its neck with his mighty hands. His tribesmen, having heard the sounds arrived to see Helaku standing triumphant against the dead, huge wolf. They treated Helaku with deep respect, praising his skill, but Helaku felt ashamed because he knew his recklessness could've costed him his life.

As years have passed, Helaku has hunted less and less frequently, focusing mostly on following the teachings of the Earth Mother. He has developed a strong bond with the nature, now able to conjure -in times of need- the forces of nature to help mend wounds and punish his enemies, when necesary.

Sometime after the opening of the Dark Portal, Helaku was in the Elder Rise when he witnessed the theological discussion between Tahu Sagewind and Aponi Brightmane, arriving from Outland, injured. Having heard Tahu's ipothesis, Helaku meditated upon the subject, agreeing with Tahu, enthralled by its implication of balance, which he deemed most dear.

Thus, he began drawing power from the sun to mend wounds and smite his foes and he joined the new order of "Sun druids." , his powers and understanding of balance vastly improving, as he could now see both ends of the spectrum.
When the Secound Scourge Invasion was unleashed, he joined the Warsong Offensive, traveling to Northrend and setting base in the Borean Tundra.

Character Appearance: Helaku owns a full-white fur coat, the fur being stopped from growing here and there, as he has a few scars on his body, the largest being three long claw marks gained from the Coyote which he nearly died to. Even though he stopped hunting, he is still fit, after becoming a "Sun Druid" he began training physicaly again, such as to be prepared incase times of war arrive, although he hoped these times would never come. He is rather tall - 7 ft. 10"and his eyes are light blue. He wears his facial hair in three braids, each adorned with a golden ring at the end.

Character Personality: Helaku has been thought as a child to value wisdom and those courageous and faithful to the ways of the Earthmother. He would oftenly try to strike conversation with the warriors, not unnecesary chat, but rather always trying to learn more and shift his thoughts from the neverending battle against the centaurs and their unability to settle down in one place.

As he grew up, those traits only strengthened, along with his non-arogant pride . Apart from the Coyote episode in which his desire to be respected and recognised as a talented hunter took control over his emotions, Helaku has always valued balance atop everything else and believes that any major changes to the world should happen driven by wisdom and patience. " While the world can change a soul in a day, it takes much more time to change the world. "
Nowadays, he is rather talkative for a tauren as he always wants to learn. From the other Horde races, he prefers Orcs and Trolls the most, as he admires the Orcs' attempt to turn back to their shamanistic ways and their shared vision - that of keeping your allies well protected- , and the -Darkspear- trolls as he believes they are a richly cultured race, with a vast history and followers of the spirits.

Among friends, he always lends a helping hand to those who need it. He would rather help others in such a way that they learn from it and in the future, they would be able to help themselves, and maybe teach others aswell, driven by the motto:" Give a man a fish, and sate his hunger for a day. But teach him how to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime."

He is compassionate and dislikes Forsaken at the same time: he believes their existance is an affront to nature, yet he pities them for being trapped in their unholy bodies.
Helaku bears no grudge to any race, maybe except for High and Blood Elves, whom he sees as corrupted magic users, their pressence making him wary, having heard of numerous stories about the arcanists following the wrong path and ending up causing disasters.

The Alliance race he respects most is definetly the Kal'Dorei. As the Night Elves are one of the few races to share their beliefs upon balance and the importance of nature following it's course unchanged, Helaku likes interacting with night elves on every ocasion possible, learning from them and helping them if needed.

(( This is a char I use on a RPing server. I am putting him here mostly for druidic/Earth Mother stuff RP, as there we -in my opinion, correctly- treat Sunwalkers as druids who have embraced the Sun rather than Holy Cows. ))
