    Computer Specs for Diablo 3

So I just signed up for the annual pass...never played diablo ever but, tbh, it looks FUCKING AMAZING. The atmosphere is bad ass. Demons and monsters? Hell yeah. Looks great, however, idk how my comp holds up to play it...

I've got an alienware m15x (if you hate alienware I don't care, this post isn't for alienware hate). It had the best nvidia graphics card I could customize for it, its windows 64bit or w/e, it's got good processors. I can run WoW on max everything (except shadows) with no lag only if I have my comp in stealthmode. It's not very specific details but...do you guys think this comp can run diablo 3 on damn high settings to get the full effect? Thanks!

Probably fine. Your WoW is fine in cloggy situations in raids/BGs and/or in cities? If so, then you're likely ok to go.

I play on mal'ganis where we have a crap ton of ppl in org all the time, just put everything on "high" setting and flew around, no lag except for random spikes when a massive chunk of new scenery loads in the frame..but thats to be expected imo. In raids etc zero lag.

Your better off judging based off SC2, not WoW.

Blizzard have promised with sc2/wow/diablo 3 to optimize these games for a wide range of computers, and so far they have kept their promise with wow.

Although at the same time, don't expect the same low requirements/great optimization as Sc2 on diablo 3. Sc2 needs a low requirement for competitive play, something diablo 3 wont have.

There was a comparison video somewhere showing the differences between high, medium and low settings, and to be honest, the differences were minor.. The actual models looked the same, the only thing that really changed was lighting and particles.. So if you can run it at medium it's going to look as good as in most beta footage, since videos usually lower the sharpness slightly. Can you run it at maxed out settings? Hard to tell.. but it's gonna look good regardless imo

    Edit: found video.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aX495YpE0YQ

As she says, as long as you don't have an onboard gfx card you can probably max out most settings, but you may need to change resolution

just find a copy of crysis 1 play it on extreme all maxed out highest pixel settings. if you run about 20-40 fps ( and then you have a beast of a pc cos the game lauched in 2007 ) then you can prob play d3 on ultra/veryhigh/high or w/e it is called with no problem @ all. my pc has these specs i7-960 nvidea 460gtx 12gb ddr3 1600 win 7 x64. and i pull out in crysis about 20-25 fps on maxed out and sc2 on extreme 140 fps. so thats just a basic tests to see if you can run d3 maxed out or not

Diablo 3's graphics are nice but they're not going to be mind blowing, Blizzard does not make games like this because honestly, did you see the cinematic for the black soulstone? Beautiful, they get credit for their art through that - your computer should be fine, it's neither GPU nor CPU intensive. Keep in mind you will only be playing with a maximum if, I believe, 8 people. So it's not like WoW where you even have 10 people in a raid.

    Found out my system specs...
    OS: Windows 7
    System Type: x64-based PC
    Processor Intel(R) Core (TM) i7 CPU Q 740 @1.73GHz, 1730Mhz, 4 processors 8 logical processors
Adapter Description graphics card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M
    Adapter RAM 1.00 GB
    Resolution 1920x1080x60 hertz
    Bits/Pixel 32

Not sure if that is enough to tell haha, I'm stupid when it comes to computers..would you say D3 is playable on high settings on this? If I'm missing some important spec let me know!
