I give it a decent go (ill try defeat a base, cap a flag) but if the outlook is severely dire, I'll go out swinging getting as many honor kills as I can before we lose.

Exactly, I read "Let them win!" as "Start farming HKs!". It usually works for a while but once enough players on my side AFK out, I start getting slaughtered 8+ vs me. owies!

I always try to fight on,however if a loss is certain (and i mean there's nothing that can save the game not the whiny idiots in WSG that cry when Horde get first flag) then i just go farm HK's
