YAY 60 Miner! Got lucky on getting my pickaxe too. First adamantite I collected was rated at exactly 530!

The fun part is when you start gathering the (number, not rating) 495 collectable Cuprite & Morel, in which you can get minimum of 0 and a maximum of 8 per half an hour.
I was smart during the weekends when sometimes one (or lucky if both) was starred, netting me 12 Scrips more per collectable.

The number of collectables above are 'required' if you are like me and are currently aiming for all 6 land books, excluding the fishing books.

For quick gil, I recommend getting 550 Perception (considering you've gotten the 530 collectability rating on your Adamantite spawn, you've cleared that) and 600 GP, along with tons and tons of Cordial (best crafted, though) and go out and hunt for Dawnborne Aethersand & Landborne Aethersand.
The Landborne Aethersand is really the best and cheapest way into procuring OH equips for all crafters without the need of spending 24+ Red Crafters'/Gatherers' Scrips on.

Obviously the Eikonic OHs are far better, procuring materials are faster, but costs Esoterics, which is your biggest hinder.
And finding a BSM specialist. Too many are CRP & GSM specialists, so I would reckon finding a BSM specialist to craft the off hands for you (the blue token MHs are sufficient enough) in order to heighten your craftsmanship & gathering points.

truth. made 20 mil when materia was added to old beast tribes. made 1 mil a week from the grade 5s from weekly VA for awhile. gil has been so easy in HW and i don't craft at all.

I was expecting the airship to be the new FC House money sink, but turned out it wasn't. With this much influx of gil, it makes me wonder if they have a big money sink planned for the next expansion to drain off some of the excess wealth in the server economies.

I bought a Nutkin for 800k (and then my FC got 2 in Aquapolis the next night....) but I've made it to 10 million gil, which is where I wanted to be. I should probably push myself to rake up more, though.

Then again, glass fiber is easy to come by and its price tanked compared to ecahtl sealant, so they really just spread the ecahtl sealant profits out among IV & V materia + glass fiber. So I guess the easy gil now is akin to the Ixal patch gil offerings. Hmmmm.

Honestly. My intention atm is to get the minekeep gear then blow scrips onto sand for the relic for a bit. If I understand I get the aethersand from reducing those astral moraine things from ephermal nodes. Only node I've ever encountered quite frequently is one in the Churning Mists at Landlord Colony.

The script system majorly put me off wanting to focus seriously on gathering or crafting. Apparently it was designed to make it easier, but to me, it just seems to have made things much more hard and less fun.

I did grind out some so I could get the 58 gathering gear and so I could one the receipt books for alchemist, but I don't see myself bothering much more. IMHO, the system is anti-fun...so kind of a fail on Square's part.

After reaching Armorer 60, I'm just looking at Blue Scrip gear, "How am I supposed to get enough Scrips for that?", while looking at the items NPC is asking.. along with resources needed to attempt to craft them.

But then again I haven't crafted anything above 50, so I don't know how hard they are. Mostly got to 50 with HQ leves, which were crafted by max-level FC member and then 50-60 with Moogle dailies.. so erh.

Script system was for people who didn't feel like dumping ridiculous amounts of gil into the overmeld bullshit gilsink.
It accomplished that pretty well, only that the gear is crap for 3*** recipes due to a lack of HP.

If you want to go high end, there is no way around dealing with the overmeld RNG. I think it's by design too.

Get it to 50 for Byregot's Blessing. At 5 stacks of Inner Quiet, Byregot's Blessing (CRP 50) is equal to Byregot's Brow in strength, but crafting high level recipes, most notably the current 60 stars yield more than 5 stacks (in 95/100 cases) every time you craft something like that.

You can forget about HQing Heavensward spec patterns reliably w/p Byregots Blessing.

Get it to 50 for Byregot's Blessing. At 5 stacks of Inner Quiet, Byregot's Blessing (CRP 50) is equal to Byregot's Brow in strength, but crafting high level recipes, most notably the current 60 stars yield more than 5 stacks (in 95/100 cases) every time you craft something like that.

Not to mention that you do not have to rely on RNG for it to be usable.
Innovation + Great strides + Byregots Blessing is a wonderful finisher that gives you a ton of HQ progress if you have 6+ stacks of Inner quiet.

Once I hit 56, I scrip grinded just about every class to 60 purely off blue scrips, which got me the master book at 60 every time (sometimes I'd get the book before hitting 60). I didn't like it until I started doing it, then I loved it for crafting.

For gathering.... still don't like that one's design. It's not 100% bad, it just needs to be modified to make it more accessible rather than chained to the clock.

Honestly for blue scrips I just do Red Quartz and Light Kidney Ore and take it easy. Doesn't seem to be 2 that rotate out so guaranteed near 200 scrips per Eorzea day.

All gatherers at 60 now. Now to stock up on materia as I finish off the crafting classes (57-58 on those).

Now I'm looking at how to proceed on gathering and I'll need to start looking for these timed nodes and whatnot for collectibles...oh joy. I suppose I shouldn't be whining about them since they can help to provide progress on my anima weapon (among other things).

I'd just say make it a timer with x amount.

So currently you can get 1 of x every 30 minutes, which is 48 items per day. Obviously they expect not everyone is going to get every single opportunity every single day, so let's whack it down to 30 for the sake of this example.

Just make it so you can only gather 30 of x classified items every 24 hours. We're only able to gather 1 map per day, do the same with the rare gathering items.

Do something similar for collectibles where you can only get x attempts per day.

With Cordial use it is possible to get 2 nodes within the 5m window actually (gathering only, I think the collectible rotation takes too long). Tricky and you don't have time to think but it is possible.

So people are going into ACRF through df not as a premade expecting those speedrun clears people do? Uhmmmm there is party finder for that. I do speed clears through the party finder with 3 premades and I don't expect that in DF when people might be doing their MSQ or whatnot.

I don't go in there expecting it, per se, but since I tank roulettes, I pretty much will pull as much as possible. Dungeon has a bit of gating to it, though, so the only massive pulls are the ones between first and second boss (which I despise those since mobs come running from almost every direction, dropping conals and AOEs so people go running everywhere...).

I often run with at least one other friend, usually 2, so we're able to move fairly quickly.
