I forgot about the MMO. How do they do they structure their expansions and patches? Each entry a continuation of where the last one left off, as FFXIV/Trails did (and WoW sometimes did), or is each expansion just a different story with little connection to prior events and with different casts?
I've not played it myself as it hasn't reached the West! From what I know, it's structured into big 'Versions' (i.e. Expansions/Patches). It's similar to FFXIV, the story of one Version leading into the next one, with each one of the Versions offering a story/cast of their own (as the single player games do) but still remain narratively connected to the previous ones. It does not go to the same extend as FFXIV does with the story but generally DQ never tends to do so.
There're so many features in DQX that I wish western MMO will steal, like 'Borrowing' your friend's character(s) to level-up/quest/do dungeons. When your friend logs back in he/she will gain the same amount of rewards etc. as you did.
It even has its own version of the Golden Saucer/Casino which is 10x more hardcore than FFXIV's!

Great now I want to download this mod and start playing Stardew Valley again.
I think it's a shame there wasn't a way to... I dunno, convince Emet-Selch that we're worthy of the star, without having to kill him. I'd like to relieve him of some of that weight he is carrying.
Let's analyze the text.
This directly contradicts later lore.Originally Posted by The Hunt Begins: The Offical Short Story of Zenos yae Galvus
Why would he "sleep soundly" if every night he's seeing a vision of the end of the world? That dream apparently does bother him enough to comment on it when he wakes up from it.Originally Posted by Echoes of a Fallen Star

A lot of people have very sound sleep without dreaming. It does not say that he dreams every single night. It says that his dreams are always of the final days of Amaurot. These are not the same thing. I have plenty of nights where I awaken refreshed and did not dream.
This is the perfect example of what my comment was referring to. This is not a retcon, it is you being annoyed or upset or whatever that a subjective inference you made was not born out by the narrative.
Also you are banking a LOT on the word "every." As in pretty much your entire claim that this has happened Zenos' entire life. One could make an argument that Zenos became much more attuned to the workings of the Ascians and the universe at large after he was given the artificial Echo considering after that moment he just spirals further and further into madness.

Alright. Even if we set aside that he didn't dream that dream that exact night, the backstory for the antagonist. We get a description of what he life growing up was like, and the story takes place over the course of 3 weeks. Such a key detail of Zenos having unnerving dreams would have been brought up. Something like "Sometimes, Zenos would go to sleep, but would have unnerving dreams, but none of the palace magicians or wise men could make sense of it.". But it's never hinted at once. But I digress.
Because you inserted the words "every night" after "I've always dreamt of it" in your assumption when that is not what the story says.
Sure, wonder if there's a disconnect there, perhaps we could submit that question next time they do a Q&A to get further clarification, but if a subjective alternative exists that explains it just as well, it's just not true that it's a retcon.

Only until you get used to it. They are scripted, after all.
Yes, despite the slow GCD, the game can get quite stressful in savage and I recon more so in Ultimate.
Especially the fact that most information is conveyed visually and that auditory warnings are still underrepresented puts quite a strain on the player to "see it all" from glowing effects to simple things such as the arm movement of the boss.
Tip: set combat effects of other players to "simple". Some smaller bosses get clouded in effects to a degree that renders you unable to see important things.
Which expansion relics are the easiest / least time-consuming to get? I started doing ARR (DRG) and I'm now at the part where I have to do 9 books with each book having like 20 things to do in it...yikes. Are HW / SB / ShB relics just as bad or is one of them easier than the others?
I did a HW relic. It's not too bad, but you'll have to farm a lot of poetics. SB is probably the hardest since you'll have to do Eureka. I think it's kinda soloable, but it'll be difficult. I'd say the ShB one is the easiest overall and you can level other jobs while doing a lot of the steps for it.
Hearing people talk about the sudden rise of DPS queues and how theres no longer a tank surplus just makes me think that all the WoW players that refuse to tank moved to FFXIV.
Also FFXIV’s housing system is entirely unhealthy. I truly hope it’s fixed in the next patch or two. You cannot enjoy this feature as a casual, unless you settle for tiny apartments tucked away never to be seen by anybody. And that's kinda lame, because you miss out on the whole experience of having neighbors and occasionally interacting with them.

Leveling through ARR there's been a shortage of both, slightly leaning towards healers maybe 60/40. WoW is the reason I have long refused to tank or heal though. Too stressful, too many toxic groups, it was thankless and not fun. I might try it eventually in FFXIV, the dungeons seem more like Wrath-era WoW (so far) and the tank classes look interesting. My SO is wanting to try both, so if we queue together we won't have to worry about being literally jerked around by healers or tanks pulling too much while we're getting accustomed. Plus, we don't know these dungeons well enough to lead anything. I still don't know how that gel boss in Copperbell is supposed to work. :P
Re: Emet. They just need to hint (more strongly?) that back in the day he was more than a friend. :P

Definitely a combination of healers not being enjoyable and the reality that there's simply only 3 healers in the game. So far into the games lifespan most people who have an interest in healing have mainly already leveled them up, or at the very least those that are leveling them know how to get them to max level quickly to the point you won't see them in dungeon roulettes at low levels for long. Tanks used to be more in demand until the recent DPS influx, which seems to have created more tanks than healers, surprisingly.
Max level they're both pretty equally in demand, but you'll always be waiting for a tank than healers if you're using the duty finder for most raids.

i am empathetic to people who have tyrophobia, but does the ff14 community like know about japan and its government they are indirectly supporting? like im fine with being woke and stuff its just like....its japan, maybe give none japanese people equal rights too? oh no we changed some holes, so progressivE!

I'm not sure how that has anything to do with being woke or not woke, but people who may have trouble playing their game due to a condition. As far as I can see, they avoid putting anything in that would put people off for various political reasons. Any kind of ingame political or ideological situation that I've encounter they've fairly accurately portrayed the pros and cons.
Changing the holes wasn't to be progressive, it was a minor fix that will avoid detracting from the experience for some of the playerbase.
