    10m (semi) hardcore.

Guild Sex God (Just a title given to the person who made te guild.)
Officer (We actually run and control the guild.)
Pro Raider (Ppl who show exceptional skill in raids. They know all fights and encounters perfectly. They screw up almost never.)
Raider (Ppl who are good raiders but still have obvious room for improvement.)
Initiate (Ppl that want to become raiders but still have to show us what they're made of. Basicly need to prove to us they know how to perform in a raid enviroment.)
Social (Ppl who don't care about raiding and never participate.)
Twat of the Day (Just as the title suggests. Given to those who do something exceptionally stupid.)

...Blizzard has gone the mile and added LFR for those people, but nerfing normal and hc modes is just plain stupid. The Burning Legion didn't get pushed back by lining up a thousand arcane mages spamming AB. It took work work work.

Sadly enough most of our members quit WoW now until Blizzard makes any sense (Nerfs is just ridiculous...).

But since we were a IRL-guild we had somewhat lame ranks. Our ranks were not 100% serious.

this is the way i have it set up and explained on our guild site

    Guild Master
The guild master has final say and everything to do with the guild including but not limited to control/manage guild activities such as Raiding & PVP and other guild functions
(please bring your issues to an officer 1st)

this rank is set aside for the core PVP and raiding members, TeamSpeak is required for this rank, as well as regular attendance and all scheduled guild RAID or PVP

    Social Hero
This rank is set aside for members that use guild chat regularly and log into TeamSpeak on a regular basis as well as helping other guild members

    Casual Hero
this rank is set aside for those that use guild chat on a regular basis and help out other members

    Hero
This rank is a basic rank for those who have been guild for at least two weeks or more and/or take no kind of social interaction within the guild

    Ghost
This rank has no rights and set aside for those who are active in the guild and as a penalty box

    Trail Hero
This rank is set aside for members who have yet there to prove their worth to the guild
(can take anywhere from 3 days to a month depending on the individuals attendance and actions)

In my old guild ("casual" mythic raiding, 26 man roster) we kept things simple and clean. And ranks were mapped to their purpose and function.

We have a core roles, Guild Master, Officer, Recruiters, Core Raider, Member Alt, Newbie, and Casual. We also have a retired rank for people who raided for an extended period of time and then left, but still play periodically. Not all retired raiders get that rank, it's more of a badge of honor, and entitles the retired member to return to raiding at anytime without a trial, assuming space is available.

We also have some joke ranks like "Disappointment", the name of this rank changes often and reflects the current inside joke.

Unless you're in a roleplaying guild and like tons of fancy titles, this is all you really need.
