Or kept it if not selling fast enough and market flooding, I'd pay 25k gladly for it, lovely pet that you have to rely on others to buy with real cash

You can make 10-15k by simple AH reselling in a day or two, so why would anyone pay $10 for 5k gold.. I'm pretty sure $10 will get you about 10k on moderately populated realms.

I sold mine in trade chat -- first one on my server, Alliance side. Someone offered me 5000 gold and I took it. If someone offered me more, I would have said, "Nah, just give me 5k." I think that is what it's worth, and I refuse to gouge people except when I'm on my rogue.
