How much would you pay for my PC?

Thinking about selling my homebuilt PC "locally", here it is:

    - SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
    - Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I52500K
    - LITE-ON DVD Burner - Bulk Black SATA Model iHAS124-04 - OEM
    - G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL
    - ASUS ENGTX560 DCII OC/2DI/1GD5 GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
    - GIGABYTE GA-Z68A-D3H-B3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
    - Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit - OEM

Any reasonable prices you think I could get for it?

You should be able to ask for about $1,600~ since you already built it all. You may even be able to get more, depending, since it is of course considered a prebuilt and I know a typical company would sell something like that for probably $2,500, jacked up super overkill price.

About 2000$ I think is a reasonable price, but computer parts costs alot more where I come from, so maybe you can get like 1.5k if you live in the US

    You can get $800.

I have a very similar computer that I bought from ibuypower for $1200. Even if it's "Like New!" it still falls under the used category so I wouldn't expect to get more than $1000. Might be able to get a few hundred more if the buyer isn't familiar with computers.

1000-1200$ sounds reasonable, assuming everything is in good shape.

plug in the parts to newegg and there ya go. add 10-15% for the labor.

all of these random numbers people are throwing out are completely unfounded.

You don't get full price for used parts, even if they're only a few months old.

So if this is a truly new computer (one could assume so, based on some of the parts, i.e. newer GPU, Z68 isn't old) all of those parts come out to a total of about $1,135 and you can basically at a labor cost to it. My original sum was off the top of my head, but I just went to newegg and tallied down all of the costs and I'd say the costs for building, installing OS, taking care of drivers, all of that, you could probably ask for an additional $200.

Try to get $1,350, anyone who suggests a number like $800 clearly has no clue of the cost to you to just get the parts, much less the labor put in to build it, and seeing as how you likely have not used it much and it was most definitely made probably within the last 3 months, there's no reason to take a $350~ hit on the cost.

I would say probably 1.5k since you have the monitor too.

I factored that into my second price. ;p It's only about a $95 monitor on newegg. =X

800 if you've powered it on at any one time. More would be tricking people.

The HDD could, if unused go for a fifth of that alone.

Well if he's powered it on just to install 7 and drivers then you could consider it a "new" PC, no?

Lucky to get $600? Really? The video card is $200 alone...

In all senses of the word, it's used.

The devaluing of a computer and its parts is not to be underestimated.

$170 on newegg, and yes, really.

I just sold a HP AMD quad core with 8 gigs of memory and a 750MB HD, it took a month and I was damn lucky to get $200 for it.

If I had a used computer I'd probably just set it up to fold if I couldn't get something mildly closer to its actual value.

I guess at some point we'll hear back from the OP (hopefully) on how much he's actually used the computer, if at all.

Btw, by the time it comes back in stock, likely $200, and try $180 with rebate. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121446

It really depends what kind of crowd you're looking to attract. The Craigslist crowd is different than the Alienware crowd is different than the Ibuypower crowd.

You could sell this to Mr. Alienware for $1500 easily, but Mr. Craigslist most likely isn't looking to spend much money regardless of quality, so he might offer $800 max.

    (Sweeping generalizations, I know)
