I was stress testing today, first on IBT and it was stable for 10 in a row, then I proceeded to Prime, after 10 minutes my first worker failed :-(.

Certain BIOS settings, I believe it's the LLC, will make the voltage vary when you're under load. Keep that benching up! ;p

Speaking of... when setting LLC, why is it considered bad if your Voltage is higher at load? I would have thought that would be a desirable effect, so you can use lower voltages at lower speeds.

I'm not entirely sure to be honest, ask Cilraaz, but I think it's a problem of too much and/or heat/stability.

Bah, got a 0x124 BSOD running Prime 95 sometime last night while I was at work... never had any blue screens or anything running normal programs with my current settings

Keep forgetting about this thread >.>
Will be running p95 right now till I wake up/forget about it and come back a day later.

    ---------- Post added 2011-11-15 at 10:10 PM ----------

While running: Forgot I was still running this when I woke up (Peaked 53c at random points because the ac/heat vent is right next to it)
After I stopped it: 9 hours 48 minutes

Microspikes. If your voltage is increasing under load, it's going that much higher when transitioning from load to idle.

I thought I was so close to getting up on the rankings as I'd managed to get 4.8 on my 2500k with prime95 giving no errors overnight, but then I thought I'd fiddle with the RAM and totally bricked my system lol. I think I undervolted it by mistake and it wasn't even booting to BIOS, you'd just hear the fans start up then it would all power down. Luckily my MoBo has a button to reset to factory settings and that's got windows running again but I want to test all my hardware for errors before I start overclocking again in case any parts got damaged (which would really, really suck). Hopefully I can get a nice high oc that's stable again though .

Edit: I didn't see that we needed CPU-Z in the SS. You can see everything you need in the P95 window and Coretemp though >.>. The validation link also backs it up, and I'd rather not do another 8 hour overnight P95 session...

Pyrotemplar, I've just taken a look at your links, and the SS isn't precisely valid since it's linking to photobucket which is returning a page not found link. Also, idk if I'd consider 99.79x41 a true 4.1GHz. Typically we try just for 100x41, for 4.1GHz.

He might have spread spectrum enabled, or I've noticed CPU-Z sometimes shows my BCLK fluctuating a bit when under load (and I know I have spread spectrum disabled)

Yeah but that is more than I've ever seen mine fluctuating on my CPU-Z. =S

0.2MHz is easily within the realm of Spread Spectrum fluctuation.

Also, his link doesn't work because he copied it from somewhere that had already shortened it. It actually has the ellipse in the link ("...").

Checked his SS in the other thread, I'll take it, but gahhhh, can barely read the damn thing! >_< Please use imgur.com or another site in the future that doesn't murder the size of pictures....
