    healing in ToR

hey all, my gf is looking to play ToR with me on release and she wants to be a healer, she wants something that feels like her pally, i recommended a bounty hunter healer but I'm not really sure what the feel is on them as i haven't played a healer in the game yet, any advice on a class i should steer her towards?

Like a pally? I think she should be a Consular

    From what I read:

    Bounty Hunter: Shaman/Pally.
    Sith Inquisitor: Disc/Holy Priest.
    Imperial Agent: Resto druid.

I would go with Imperial Agent as Medic - it's looking great and imo it will be one of the main healers.
Check it here and see if you / your gf likes it http://www.oldrepublic.net/146-imper...ent-guide.html

All healers are supposed to be balanced with each other but some designed to meet needs a bit more in certain areas.
From what we hear commandos make good tank healers cuz they have extra armor and mitigation, decent big heals and aoe heals. Consular held fairly straight forward like priest, and hits for agent.

If she likes the system of holy power, I would suggest IA - Medic.

    This is almost right

I would probably switch it around and say

    Bounty Hunter: Shaman
    Sith Inquisitor: Disc/Holy Priest
    Imperial Agent: Resto druid/Pally

All I know is that, based on dev comments I've read/interviews I've seen, the IA and Smuggler healer ACs are more based around HoTs whereas something like a Sage or Sorcerer is more of the direct heal type.

Trooper heals is like paladin heals. Direct.

Consular is like a Disc Priest

    Smuggler is like a Druid

I have found that the BH/Trooper are the closest (healing wise) to a pally, based on the following:
    1.heaviest armor class
    2. direct heals
3.not alot of healing abilities but they get the job done

Think of Wrath paladin healing style rather than Cataclysm style moves and you would be pretty close to what a BH/Trooper can do

I doubt is possible to compare healing classes from WoW with the ones in Swtor atm... you can just assume stuff ...

Ill agree with this, if u think WOTLK pally then yes BH would be a good choice.

If you are thinking Cata Holy Pally, IA is much more similar.

Cool thing about the Bounty Hunter healing tree is that its in the Mercenary AC alongside Arsenal and Firebug.

I don't know if your GF is going to like the BH's character though. Its quite a departure from the Paladin class.

Its fairly accurate. The BH reminds me of paladin in so many ways.
