How many players do you expect there to be? [Poll]

How many players do you expect this game (SWTOR) to have at, say, the three month mark?

Take into consideration that around 1 million US players have already pre-ordered the non-digital version.

1-2 million is a safe bet.

http://www.vgchartz.com/preorders.php According to this at least 800k people have pre-ordered (not including digital pre-orders). So my best bet is roughly around 1-2 million.

2 million is safe already with pre-orders, it seems.

Really no telling how many people will start playing after launch. I know that a few of my friends are waiting to hear from me how it is before buying it.

If it gets good word-of-mouth, could be a few more million. Really can't say until all of us that already bought the game get a chance to play.

Three months in? It'll drop to about a million or so.

It's not a good enough game to stay interested that long.

three months in alot of people will not have cancelled their subs yet, so I expect it to be around 1-2 million. After 6 months it should have dropped down to between 500-800k though.

I'll be still around so don't worry, and not really sure at all.

    My version of this^ :

3 months in? It'll gain another million or so.

It's such a good game to keep bringing in more players.

I'm thinking about 1.5-2 mill at first, unsure how it'll evolve after that. I can see the game reach 4 mill if all goes well

    2-3 million after 3 months.

I'm guessing 2 million at launch, and by 3 months it will gain another 1+ million but also lose several hundred thousand people as well.

Interesting questing and lore is not enough to keep players coming.

Which is what SWTOR is really good for.

(And don't give me an infraction please, I know you give infractions to people that don't agree with the things you like)

Have yet to see Trolls ban someone that was not inciting hate. Get a lot of that here for some reason...

    =/

No. I infract for infractable offenses. You just posted your opinion and backed it with your thoughts and didn't insult everyone that may disagree with you in the process. That kind of post is fine.

You didn't say, "The only thing the game has is questing. The rest sucks and you guys will pull your heads out of your asses and go right back to WoW."

    And you know the difference.

You got to be a downright jerk to receive an infraction from mods especially Trolls. I've never seen him act petty against those who don't like SWTOR. But if you post non constructively, which incidentally trying to call him petty as your post implies isn't really being constructive, can earn you some infractions.

It's okay not to like SWTOR or any game for that matter, just don't be a dick about it, which you aren't at least not yet.

I personally feel like SWTOR has most of the MMO bases covered they got a commitment to good endgame with possibly two raids in for launch and tons of dungeons, if they keep up that dedication I think they just might see numbers increase instead of decline. Also people need to realize that SWTOR has the potential to pull in non MMO gamers so that could potentially increase numbers, it's not like SWTOR is just going to be taking people away from games like WoW which seems to be an issue for some people and why some posters here like to downplay SWTOR.

2-3 million is a safe bet imo, it already has alot of content for launch more than any MMo to date for their releases.

to begin the game I expect very high numbers or players. I do not see it dropping too severe after but I do expect some people to not like the game. The growth of the game really depends on how quickly they put out new content as well. That will play a big factor in the player base being content.
