A few questions pop up:

- You say a 26"+ monitor, but why 26"? And what resolution do you want it to be?
For a 1080p monitor (that is, 1920x1080) going above 23-24" will seriously hurt the pixel density and given normal viewing distance of around 1 meter will not be ideal. However, there are 27" monitors with greater resolutions (2560x1440) but these are fairly expensive (not to mention that a higher resolution means less framerates in games).

- You mention "a little bit of video editing" and I'm just curious what this correlates to?
E.g., I make raid videos (and sometimes random gaming videos) for YouTube about once every week, and for that a 2500k is fine. However, if you plan to do more professional work (perhaps as part of education) or do more videos than suggested, I would advise to get a 2600k. So please specify what you mean with "a little bit".

I'd probably suggest something like this as an initial build, but given your answers above you might want to swap some stuff around. This would give you enough room to get a good monitor and any other peripherals you might need.

Hey Mate, cheers for reply.

The reason I want to 'to big' as to monitor size if that i've been playing with a 22" for almost 2 years now, to be honest it feels boring! At school they've installed 27" and i've always wanted to be able to game on one of them. I'll probably keep my 22" untill prices drop a bit but will probably get some advice closer to that time.

I myself basically make weekly gaming and other random videos myself, nothing too special.

My main concern is just having a rig that will be able to handle games on ultra for the next year or two without hurting or having to upgrade to soon. With my last year of school finishing in two days I can't wait for kicking back and playing the games!
