Two questions:

Why wouldn't a resto druid want the blue one, if hots tick twice as fast isnt that pretty much the same as double healing?, this frees up the red on for other healers

When i first saw this fight's notes i immediently thought of healers having to rotate who gets the buffs, i.e. go mental on healing with red and green and then preserve mana with blue whilst letting the other healer(s) mostly take over. Is this the case on the ptr or is it more take what benefits u most and stick with it?

You underestimate new Holy Radiance, which is best AoE healing spell for that fight (and paladin best AoE healer), and benefits like crazy from haste - with unlimited mana and twice amount of HRs you would cast normally i think 80-100k hps with blue buff is doable

HoT ticks don't scale like that. 100% extra haste would only get you 1-2 more ticks on most of our HoTs. However, the reduced mana would allow for constant RJ/RG spam, which might be OK. I still think Red is the way to go for druids though, unless they fix the way Green works.

A large part of Holy Radiance is a hot.

It seems pretty widely agreed that the Holy Paladins should be taking the blue buff. They have the highest cost spammable heal and probably the best raid wide AoE heal when grouped.

How would only healer could click work ? Any shadow , ele ore boomkin could sign up as healer in the role check that means the sytsem would have to check the specs and I dont think they would go trough this trouble, especialy since the buff states all mana costs are reduced, if it were ment to be healers only I think they would state mana costs of all healing spells are reduced

There's tons of encounters where the system checks specs. Think about the magic debuff on Sindragosa back in ICC. That NEVER hit melee dps (As a Enhance Shaman i was quite happy about this) even though they were hybrids.

The system would most definently never check via the role check as the vast majority of all guild runs nobody would use a role check.
As far as i know only healers can acually use the buffs.

Is either a troll or a bug, as not even healers are intended to be able to have more than 1 buff at a time.
Otherwise you'd just stuck a Holy Paladin with red and blue buffs and spam radiance :S


Personally i prefer - as a Shaman - to take the blue. I basicly plan ahead that i get the blue, which enables me to waste my entire mana pool on Healing Rain and Chain Heals over the first 3-4 minutes or whatever it is. By the time the blue spawns i'm at about 5% mana and i just spam even more stuff out.

Was on ptr yesterday. The green buff DOES proc on hots. Making your screen green from numbers.

Even though the boss died super quick and the buff only had about 2/5 uptime, it was 30% of my total healing on the fight.

Red = resto druid Hotting as normal
Green = Paladin ... Basically makes all their heals work like the glyph of Holy light used to.
Blue = Resto Shaman healing rain / CH, Priests PoH spam.

Seems to be the common conception among my guild / realm.

Well, as I'm in a pretty laidback guild I doubt we will be getting to heroic anytime soon, but on normal I plan on taking the red buff (resto druid) seeing as how green doesn't work with hots and blues mana reduction is wasted as I never oom and the extra haste is meh at best for hots. Our disc priest plans on going offspec for dragonsoul so she will probably take blue because, as has been said alread, PoH spam seems nice, and our resto sham will take green as chain heal spam and rain spam will be awesome distributed among everyone. If we two heal it I'd go boom, our priest may stay disc and then take red and then if one of them gets low on mana they will switch to blue. Seems to be the best way to do it considering we have no holy pally.

If this is true, I would take green, priest would stay disc and go red and shaman would go blue. Unless we 2 heal, then it would probably be the same as before. Though I feel like if green does work on hots, then resto druids are going to be a very good healer choice and someone else may go dps.

Done fight as all healing classes and used all crystals on all of them.
My oppinion:
Red: Due to buffs on holy radiance holy paladins benefit very strongly from this, my holy priest also had the highest HPS when i used this buff rather than the other ones
Green: Resto shammy by far, Healing rain goes completely nuts. Holy pallys got a significant bonus from this as did holy priests. Resto druids did not mostly because efflo is target capped at 3.
Blue: This buff enabled my resto druid to pump out about 50k HPS the haste buff scales stupidly with hots and the 75% mana reduction enables Wotlk Mode. Other than that obviously this is the only buff disco priests get much benefit from. Other healing classes didnt scale as well with this buff due to getting gcd capped on spells like, holy radiance, PoH, chain heal etc
As i say this is all just my oppinion from my experiance and if anybody has a better insight than me i look forward to reading it

50k hps overall or only while having blue buff?
Any healer can pump out 30k hps on aoe healing(without any buffs), so i think 50k hps with infinite mana is definitely low.

It would be great with straight up facts about these buffs. I appreciate all guesses and all, but I tried guessing myself and some say it won't work off hots, that buff wont work from shields etc.

Definitely blue for resto druid. Means they can go rejuvenation-blanking.

Blue gives no additional benefits for resto druids compared to red. Rejuv is already gcd capped from talents, and resto druids generally dont have huge mana issues. Paladins spamming the new holy radiance however get both 2x as many ticks, and 2x as many holy radiances, meaning the healing of holy radiance triples. As well as reducing the mana cost to something negligible. Disc priests are similar as they can blanket the raid in PoH shields without going oom.

It does not seem to proc off glyph of PW:S, and doesnt heal pets (does proc off heals on pets tho).

The Essence of Dream is a separate heal and therefore does not proc most talents/abilities, like divine aegis, living seed, holy paladin mastery, etc.

Still haven't found any resto druid with green buff logs yet ;(

Edit: also doesn't seem to proc off efflorescence.

Disc benefits most from red and blue.
Red: You get this buff early. Other classes will waste a lot of it because of overhealing, disc won't as much because of DA. PW:S should be a nonissue, were not fighting the LK anymore. Less waste due to DA more than makes up for PW:S.
Blue: Use PoH.
Green: Disc won't want that one, it makes DA and PW:S useless. (It is bad with the Pally mastery, too.)

healing rain isn't direct the but earth-livings that proc from it are so they ill be duplicated by the green which is why it works for them holy radiance is potentialy a direct heal as you have to cast it on someone in 4.3 has anyone tested it?

non-healers can't use the crystals afaik.
holy radiance is both a direct heal and a short aoe-hot, thats why it scales so well with blue. It's pretty much a regrowth that hits the entire raid.
