Question regarding when you reach lvl 10

Btw I ask this because I you know pre-ordered game and don't have a beta access.

When you get to lvl 10 , you choose a specification for your class, like for sith warrior you get tank , damage or just damage, does it mean that if you choose tank and damage you will not be as good of a damage dealer as if you just choose raw damage? because i wanna deal damage but i also wanna tank and i dont wanna lose the ability to be a better damage dealer.

Edit: Side question, about beta this weekend, is it accessible to anyone?

Guess no one played past lvl 10 right.

You will not just hit level 10 and get an option to choose your advanced class. Most people seem to hit level 9 or 10 when they finish their origin planet and at that point you will arrive at a space station after leaving the origin planet. Most people at this point will group up to do the first flash point (with no advanced class) and then arrive at their capital planet. Proceeding with the main quest will take you to a trainer with the option to choose between the two. (Just wanted to clarify this)

The Sith Warrior will be able to choose between being a tank or just a raw damage dealer. So yes, you will lose the potential to throw out huge DPS numbers if you chose to be a tank. However, being a tank -- you will find that your damage is great! You have the survivability of heavier armor and have the ability to go down a DPS line in the tank tree. No, you will not exceed the Marauder in DPS while raiding but you will find the survivability and extra utility by being a tank allow you to survive longer in PvP and might find yourself doing more damage than your DPS AC equivalent.

No, it's only accessable to those who entered a key and got accepted.

You dont chose to be a tank, or a healer, or a DPS. At least not in terms as simple as those. For bounty hunters, you choose Power Tech or Mercinary. And it dosent tell you anything about healing or tanking, but more than Power Tech is more defensive, while Merc is offensive. I chose Merc and had a Heal spec, and 2 DPS specs. So you can choose to be whatever you want. Powertech held the only tank spec though, as well as DPS specs, so I guess you need to research classes and their specilizations before chosing a class.

For Warriors, when you pick your advanced specialisation, if you choose Marauder, you get three damage-based talent trees. If you choose Juggernaut you get two tank and one damage tree, as I recall. Not sure on specifics as I'm only like.. level 13 and chose Marauder, but I would assume it'd be kinda like picking a talent tree in WoW.

how does the damage tree look like compared to the other 3 dps one?

    Nope, it's 1 tank + 2 DPS (1 unique, 1 shared) vs 3 DPS (1 shared, 2 unique)

Wrong, accessable to all who signed up for beta before 11/11/11, and to those who got a key because they didn't sign up before then for some reason.

Either way, its not accessable to just anyone, which was the answer he was looking for =P

Even if you pick the advancec class, that allows tanking, if you spec the damage talent tree, you will do as much damage as the advanced class that does not have a tank tree.

The answer to your question is the same answer to "Who does more damage, Paladin or Rogue?" or "Who does more damage, Warrior or Hunter?". If you're specced for it, you'll be doing damage in competitive levels, or else there's no reason for a dps spec.

You can reset your talents WITHING the same AC class. At least for now, you can't change your AC class (and Bioware stance right now is that you wont be able to change it, although they said you will in the past and who knows what they will say in the future, for now, you would be wise to take each AC class as a different class).
