Have you tried to refresh whatever you wanted to play? I had this problem and all I needed to do was to refresh the game or reload my game.

THis is usually the fix i have to do when it happens on my laptop with my USB headset. Sometimes it takes some messing with.

Go to start, search for "sound" and when your In sound, enable the headset from there. I have to do this everyday because I switch between speakers on a monitor and my headset (don't ask me why).

Assuming you're on vista or windows 7. Can't recall if xp is the same

Right click on your speaker icon in the taskbar tray. Select Playback Devices. Select Speakers ("Corsair CA-HS1 USB Headset" in grey)

If the headset isn't listed, it isn't installed correctly.

Go to device manager and check to see if their are any devices with exclamation points next to them if it's not listed.

Are the drivers/firmware for it updated?

    If so:
    Change your default sound device.
