Enchanting vs Alchemy

Hi.

I have a hard time deciding on what to do here.

I got max in tailoring and alchemy (409) but I am poor (transferred all my gold of the server 1 year ago) so I can’t buy the herbs I need to max out alch.
Tailoring is one thing, run dungeons and lvl it.
So I thought I drop alch for enchanting for ring enchants and I can grind all of the mats myself without any help from a alt.
Is this a good idea?

I find the best thing to do on a new server is get some alts set up with different professions, I like to have all 3 gathering professions, Jewelcrafting, Enchanting and Alchemy. This way I'm pretty self sufficient and don't really ever have to spend any gold unless it's a BiS BoE that I really really really want.
