No dual spec or dungeon finder thoughts

To me it just seems like it's gimping the characters in an unnecessary way. I get that people want a social server but still after playing other games with these features it just feels "cramped" for lack of a better word when it comes to picking a play style and play times (concerning finding guild/friends list groups).

I know it's been beaten to death but that's just how I feel about it.

    A) Dual Spec - not necessary at launch since with companions, all specs and roles are 100% capable of leveling perfectly fine. Will probably be added in at some point later for respeccing within your Advanced Class. For leveling, there is really no need for it. There's only two reasons it's needed at all, to help with soloing and to make raid respecs faster. The first isn't an issue with this game and the second isn't an issue with this game for at least another month, and even then you can still just go to town and respec.

    B) Dungeon Finder - yes, it's been beat to death. There's really nothing to add that hasn't been said in the other thread. Bioware has made their decision, and they are fine with people choosing not to play their game if it's that much a deal breaker for them. That's all that matters.

I'm fine with dual spec being only in your AC. I just think it's needed to swap between tank to dps or healer to dps. I mean who seriously wants to go out and quest / level as a healer?

Good thing you have companions who are DPS and you still get a ton of offensive abilities as any of the healing classes.

At first I was disappointed that there was no dual spec, but I can still do plenty of dps as sage healer with my offensive attacks and my companion

I like the idea of there not being a dungeon finder. While I do enjoy the ease of it, I like the idea of having to build up reputation for yourself, at least as far as not being an ass that the entire server blacklists.
No dual spec? Eh, i'll think i'll be ok....for now.

There's a hub planet where you can access all dungeons from without having to go anywhere. It also happens to have all trainers and an AH. Long as the retards from WoW's trade chat dont completely take over the public channels there, you won't really need LFD.

edit: the hub is a space station, not an actual planet but you get the idea

i hope they add a dungeon finder soon

I can see dual spec coming in a near future, though I hope they won't make ACs changeable, and they probably won't. Also, life might be harder without the lfd tool, but I welcome the change. No more getting grouped with assholes that don't give a shit whether you're a person or an npc.

I watched some dude's stream, and he was leveling a corruption sorcerer. No trouble leveling whatsoever.

Having a simpler way to swap specs is something that I would very much like- I hope that they decide to add that in soon.
I'm really not too worried about not having a dungeon finder. I feel like there was a turning point in the WoW community - for the worse- when the dungeon finder was implemented. Even though building groups is difficult- it will be a tad more manageable with smaller instance sizes.

Hmmm, let me know how that reputation building thing goes for you then.

I really hope that both features are never added to the game, for a variety of reasons. Simply put, the game is heavily based upon the decisions you make from a storyline perspective. Naturally, some of the decisions - including class specialisations - should be irreversible and carry weight to them.

On that note, personal reputation is also important in this game. You get social points from working with other players to get cosmetic items, which in turn could lead to friendships and making a name for oneself on their particular server. I'd hate to see a dungeon finder added for this very reason - I want to see players interacting with each other. Not everyone needs to be a lone wolf teleporting in and out of a dungeon without even speaking to their fellow gamers. Words cannot express how much I despise that in a multiplayer game.

Heh, it's what I did on RIFT, on Keenblade - US (Defiant side) lots of people knew my toons. I didn't troll though, I just spent my time cracking stupid jokes in level 50 chat. Of course there were some who found me annoying, but I had fun.

Most people will be glad that dungeon finder will not be there. A lot of people were so sick of It that they only grouped with guildies or friends. I don't blame them.
I hope this game has less mentally retarded elitist 12 year old's than WoW does.

I also would hope that Bioware would ban Gearscore from ever being In their game.

Dual spec i could go either way on, its nice to have but not necessary. But i absolutely hate what the dungeon finder has done to wow. I remember back in vanilla and BC people built up reputations through setting up groups in trade. You were either respectable or black-listed, and it was solely based on your own actions. Now days people act a fool all the time with absolutely no consequences, so i sincerely hope they never add a group finder to TOR.

Let's hope Bioware doesn't make the mistake Blizzard did by listening to the moron children on the forums.

That would not have happened if it wasn't for the merge with Activision, which in turn led to Blizzard breaking their previous promises about never allowing cross realm/cross faction communication and more importantly going back on their former stance upon micro-transactions. So let's hope Bioware are never fully tied down and forced to go back on their current plans for the game.

    No Dungeon Finder, sweet

LFD in WoW is what killed the community, people got the "there from a different server, so i don't care" crap.

Looking at buying this at release and I like the fact you have to build up your own reputation on the server, be an ass hat and get blacklisted. Maybe people will actually be nice to each other in SW: ToR

Has for Duel Spec, it's more for quickness of changing roles in raids, while has its good points, not really neccessary :P

Why must we have a thread about LFD every day?
Why am I back here, I don't even play these games anymore

The problem with the internet is parallel to its greatest achievement: it has given the little man an outlet where he can be heard. Most of the time however, the little man is a little man because he is not worth hearing.
