    No sound in Skyrim?

When I start my Skyrim, the Bethesda logo makes a sound, but when I get to the start menu, no sound is there -- and if I recall, the theme music plays there.

    Any suggestions?

Try changing your sound quality, this fixes multiple bugs regarding game crashes, fuzzy sound, lack of sound and others.

    Close your game.
Right click on the speaker in the bottom right of your tray.
    Select Playback Devices.
Go to your primary output (In my case its "Speakers").
    Right click and select Properties.
    Go to the Advanced tab.

You will see a drop down box titled "Default Format" with something like "XX Bit, XXXXX Hz (X Quality)". Lower this setting to the selection above. Keep trying different options until it works. If it doesn't work then it will not fix your problem and your issue is elsewhere.

Let me know if this fixed your issue

Changed it to every frequency, every time the Bethesda logo did its war drum sound, but the main menu didn't play the music.

Reinstalled the game today, twice, still have the problem.

I'm also having this same issue after moving my skyrim files back from a external hard drive to my desktop.

Go to your soundcard settings, and set it to 16bit 48khz. It bugs out when you have it set higher.

Alright I got mine to work, don't know if you still need help or not but I simply redownloaded directx from microsofts site (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en...ion.aspx?id=35) and it works just fine. Hope you get everything figured out ok!
