Having sympathy doesn't mean being dumb. I think everyone here has some sympathy for the kids, and maybe for the mom, but that doesn't mean should hand her all their hard earned money.

Just giving her money is the worst thing to do, it keeps all of them alive yes, but the kids will just grow up to be poor unhappy adults, as their mom wasn't smart enough to stop having sex 15 kids later, so why would she be smart enough to actually improve their lives? Then the dumbest of them will be just like their mom and have a bunch of kids, just continuing the cycle of poor unhappy life generation after generation. Just giving them money doesn't teach responsibility.

The smarter thing to do is take custody away from her, put them up for adoption, and let the mother fend for herself. Yes they will suffer, especially the older kids, but the chances of having successful happy lives is much more likely. Either way they will suffer, so ultimately you have to do the lesser of 2 evils, the one that will ultimately reveal itself as a good for both the kids and society. It will be good for the mom too if, you care about her, as the burden of taking care of 15 kids will be gone.

I would like to ask you where your sympathy is for the people that would have to pay for her? The people that have to give their hard earned money to something that will not make society better? The people whose children will have to pay for her children? The people who abstained because they knew having too many kids wouldn't be good? "Oh they don't have to pay that much," you may say, but that's today...the number of lazy people like her will keep growing, as abstaining is a responsibility and your "sympathy" only teaches them it's ok to be irresponsible, eventually overwhelming the smart people.

Heard the interview on ABC while I was caring for my family. She actually has been collecting something like $2500/mo in public support and using it for whatever suited her - she lost the kids to the county because she didn't pay the rent and she hadn't fed or clothed the kids.
