It's pretty damn amusing how every single one of these worthless scumbag botters or bot-supporters in this thread or the predictably more despicable thread over at AJ justifies their blatant disregard for the TOS, the EULA, the spirit of the game, and the entirety of the rest of the player base by saying:

"HERP. BUT WAT IF I DONT LEIK PLAYING DER GAME? DEN IT IS OKAY FOR BOTS. DERP."

You don't like grinding honor? THEN DON'T.

Don't like grinding herbs or something? THEN DON'T.

You happen to be stupid enough to believe that some ridiculous amount of farming is required to "enjoy this game?" THEN QUIT PLAYING IT.

I realize that anecdotal evidence is anecdotal, but I work 45+ hours a week, I have a full social life, I play in a band. I don't like grinding endless dailies or herbs and I HATE archy because of how grindy it is. So I simply don't engage in that activity. There's NOTHING about this game that requires me to so there's NO justification for botting in order to grind out one of these things. And yet, I STILL manage to fully enjoy this game. I raid with some degree of success, and do everything else that there is to do in this game with a decent amount of success and enjoyment without ever using a bot.

I play lots of BGs however because I honestly enjoy them most of the time. Bots on both sides ruin games for me. OFTEN.

I don't buy the lie that people just use bots to somehow make the game better or more fair.

All I'm saying I kind of understand if someone wants to bot. I don't. But I don't do more BGs than necessary for the honor, rest of the season I rather slack in SW than queue BG. :P WTB skirmish back!

Sometimes things get frustrating or annoying or downright dull. When that happens I also tend to think about finding an easier way.
I get what you're saying. We both understand the temptation to use a bot.

But let's be very clear in that we don't allow our understanding of the source of the temptation to be mistaken for a justification in succumbing to that temptation.

It isn't going to touch anyone with any kind of decent keyboard or Nagaesque mouse from botting using /keepfollowing and PerformAV addons a set of easy macros and a couple of scripts. I made one up in about 30 mins that was extremely successful. I didn't read any guides I just looked through the scripts lists for 2 important ones. It followed properly. It attacked things. It did all the "required" things to stay under the radar. I didn't run it but a few times because I'm not that big of a douche but the fact of the matter is that it isn't hard to make one with a very minimal investment i.e. around $60-70 and that is only if you don't want to spend the time looking for an open source free macro program.

I really hope they figure out a way to fix that issue because so many bots you see aren't "bots" but just macro capable keyboards, mice or macro programs coupled with a couple addons and scripts. Those addons and scripts need to be banned/taken out of the game imo. Taking out two scripts alone would almost get rid of homemade bots minus ones that use mouse click recording programs.

The real problem is that they are too lenient on reports. I had a 3's partner that botted all day and all night. That "spot" in SW that they always send you to if you get kicked out of a BG was his permanent residence so its obvious he got kicked plenty of times. He never got more than a 3 hour ban.

It would be extremely simple to set of a program that asks you to type in a random word or two like all those verification programs in order to requeue after being kicked for being afk. I think that would completely fix the issue.

The only way to get rid of bots is to get rid of grinding. That being the case, bots will never die. Just, if you are a botter, do your fellow players a favor and set it up well enough to be useful in BGs.

I was actually surprised , i picked up one of the more commonly used bots , no not pirox, but some of the profiles are so damn good, It played my char almost better then i could, only thing missing is smart targeting like healers and such, and capping the flag, but other then that, wow it can top kills and damage pretty easily.

Thundercles, you speak so much sense.

Maxed Archaeology isn't needed to enjoy the rest of the game.
Farming Herbs/Ore for gold isn't needed to enjoy the rest of the game. It's not even the best way to make gold, in fact, it's a pretty poor method.

I don't even see why people would want to use a bot to farm Honour. Just play the damn Battleground. If you hate Battlegrounds so much that you'd rather pay for a programme that could get you banned, I don't understand how you could enjoy any form of PvP.

Minimizing playtime will actually let you take part in the content while living a more or less normal life "outside" of world of warcraft.
