Alot of people have had dealings with EA in the past, especially how they deal with MMOs, they play very dirty and trust is a molecule thin.

I sum it up again: You do not ever need the Origin Client, never even need to install that one.

To purchase the digital version, you can purchase it on the homepage of origin.

You need an Origin account to play the game, BUT your swtor account = EA account = Origin account, means you already have one.

You will download, patch and install and play the game with the Swtor Client, which you download from swtor.com

At no time you will be forced to even download the Origin client.

Origin is Walmart in terms of SWTOR. When you buy a game at Walmart, you are not required to go there and play it. That is exactly how SWTOR works as of right now. You buy the game at Origin. You download, update, and play it only through swtor.com. You can safely uninstall Origin, if you bought it through the service and not just off the site and skipped the application altogether, and ignore it until the first expansion.
