You mean the general interest in something heightens when a big event related to that something is occuring? MADNESS!
Of course there's going to be a lot of people on the SWTOR forums atm. Early Game Access is occuring this week, and the big release is next week. It's natural and is no indication that SWTOR is better than WoW or anything similar.
