    500watt PSU for this mobo??

    Hey all
I just ordered a simple budget computer
an AMD A8 3850, along with this http://www.gigabyte.us/products/prod...px?pid=3928#ov motherboard

Now my PSU is a Cooler Master 450watt http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/prod...roduct_id=3035

I was flipping through the manual for the motherboard and it recommends a 500watt or greater.
Now I'm kinda worried about power. Not running anything grand, just 8 gigs of 1.5 v DDR3 1600, 1 7200rpm HD and a dvdburner, two system fans.

My question is will the above linked power supply be enough for this motherboard and rig?

the mbo uses 150 watts on load
your proc uses 92 watts on load

question is what is your graphics card as that is the other main contributor to power consumptions, also ram details would help too.

Huh? Motherboards hardly use anything, it's the components themselves that use the power, i.e. CPU, GPU, etc and a Llano build shouldn't even use 200w at full load, it's extremely efficient. 450w is enough for an independent mid-range graphics card (if you were to get one).

If I was to get picky however I wouldn't buy the Coolermaster GX series, the only PSU's I trust from them are their Silent Pro series. Otherwise seek a similarly-priced/watt PSU from Antec, Corsair or Seasonic. XFX and OCZ also make some decent PSU's.
WoW Character: Wintel - Frostmourne (OCE)
    Gaming rig: i7 7700K, GTX 1080 Ti, 16GB DDR4, BenQ 144hz 1440p

No video card, just the onchip gpu of the 3850, here is a link to the ram http://www.corsair.com/vengeance-8gb...2a1600c9r.html 8gigs of it,

I'm not getting a video card, this is for a friend who only plays 3-5 year old games like Fear, Half Life 2, Call of Duty 2. He may flirt with Modern Warfare 1 or something, but doubt it. If he does, from what I've read, the AMD A8 APU graphic performance for modern DX11 games is pretty decent.
