One of my irl friends told me they said they plan to add a bracket for level 50 players in War Zones. Can anyone verify this? I personally think it is a good idea to add in a few weeks when there is a good level 50 population.

I haven't read anything about this (although I have been off of the official forums for the last week - who has time for many forums when we have to play SW:TOR!
) lately, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were true. When there is a larger 50 population, enough to make queues fast, it would be better for both 50s and non 50s if they had their own bracket.
