Do you think you level too quick?

I was thinking this earlier, i'm in no way a fast leveller but within 3 weeks i'm already halfway to max level (questing alone). Do you think we level too quick in SWTOR? I'm simply talking from experience from other MMORPGs I played where it took a few months to hit the halfway mark

It starts to take a lot longer once you hit the late 20s and in to the 30s. I think leveling is fine where it is.

Leveling become much slower once you hit about the 30-35 mark. I know for a fact that 40 and onward can really take a long time. I was making great progress till about then and then I was able to get a level a day if I was lucky and/or determined.

What other MMO's have you played? its been a few years since MMO's such as FFXI,EQ,EQ2 took months and months to level.

I think it strikes a pretty good balance, those Older games got it way wrong and made it a chore to level and WoW currently has it too fast(understandable for alting), the pace of this game is more akin to Vanilla WoW which i think was a nice spot between too long or too short.

    In short, yes.

I have 8 days played time on my Trooper, and am level 44. I have spent quite a bit of time exploring, at the auction house, space combat, etc. I also watch all of the cut scenes. I also know by my own playstyle that I level slowly, especially in a new game.

Took me 5 days to get to 50, (not /played time) but i was rushing so.. i don't think it's too fast.

They have it about right. Long enough to make you think, "To much to level another" but short enough to think , "that wasnt to bad".

This is also without any heirloom gear, and only the guildperk.

But then again, I usually enjoy leveling more than grinding gear at 85, so I don't mind it taking more time.

felt just about right to me, fairly quick to get to 10, a bit slower to 20, slower still to 30 and then a similar pace all the way to 50 - took me about 3/4 weeks of evening play every day (and a few days over xmas)

compared to WoW (which is my only other mmo experience) and levelling to 85 in less than a week, in the same amount of playtime in the evenings, is too fast.

but saying that, i was watching all the quest scenes and storylines play out, not skipping them at all.

guy in my guild has just levelled his second toon and done 1-50 in about a week and a half but skipped everything, including class quests etc. so even at that pace, seems fine to me, i'm starting to wonder exactly how fast you could level someone up though, is there diminished xp rewards when running for example, black talon with a level 50 boosting you through?

anyways, i dont see a lot of point in rushing to end level at the moment, it's a brand new game and taking your time with it and absorbing all it has to offer gives the developers more of a chance to get more content out the door and into the live servers, which is never a bad thing.

    No.

If you don't rush it, like the majority of mmoers these days, it is fine.
I listen to all the quests, i don't skip. I enjoy the leveling. I suggest you do the same.

Also, i'd say, if you skip all the cinematics/voice-actings, getting boosted in instances etc, and then complain about the leveling speed. I'd say that's irrelevant.

This should be measured after leveling the proper way.

I wouldn't say it's too quick. I complain about outleveling a lot of planets when completing everything on every planet. After the 3rd planet, I was ahead at least 4 to 5 levels and that kind of ruined the challenge. I was 50 before seeing the last 3 planets and only have done each flashpoint once, 2 warzones, and the daylie space missions.

I thought that it was fine. The earlier levels go by too quickly imo, but the later levels make up for it.

Yeah, 1-10 are more of a tutorial. Don't even have your actual class yet. Getting into the teens slows down, get into the 20s, 30s, 40s and it gets dramatically slower.

It feels about right. I think (like some) that you start getting tired of looking at Tattooine's/Alderran's landscape after a while but I think that was the wife in the other room breathing down my neck wondering when I was going to log off for the night.

Only at lv39 at present as a result of the above statement. I'm not skipping any cut scenes/dialogue though and I'm going out of my way to really enjoy this game atm.

I feel like its too slow if anything, Tattooine just drags on with more of the same.

I don't see how this could possibly be considered as too quick.
If anything you'll want the leveling to go faster for your 2nd char.
