Try Dolby Pro Logic IIx. It shows with Analog Out: 5.1 speakers and Audio Channels: 2 from the Xonar GUI.

I was doing that already just without Dolby Pro Logic checked. It does sound a bit better now even, and that gave more control over which speakers are favored, nice! Thanks.

The Dolby stuff is always awesome on this card, especially Dolby Headphone. But if you want super accurate sound or something like that, it's better to turn it off.

Yeah I just checked out the intro to LoTR: The Two Towers with those settings plus Dolby and it sounded pretty amazing. My speakers were only at half and it was INSANELY loud.

Isn't the movie 5.1 by default ? It shouldn't allow you to enable it with 5.1 source. Logic Pro is for listening 2.0 sound on 5.1

If the movie is 5.1 set it from the GUI. :P
It's not confusing, you will get used to it.
